Well this year I was spoiled, we took the week prior to Christmas and went skiing in Austria. Amazing. I also received the 4 Feathers set the Shirkar Elephant Tiger Hunting Set, and 2 Dervishes on mounted one running. There was also a full set of new cookwear to replace some fairly old and well used ones. Still have a bunch of things in the mail due to our trip but so far all has been great.

Merry Christmas All!

Dave

Nothing but chocolates... Like 90% of the Portuguese population (according to a recent study) we had decided that because of the tough economic crisis our country is going through, there would only be gifts for children:rolleyes2:... It was fun being with the larger family as usual though!

All in all, along with the usual aftershave, socks and boxers I did VERY WELL

No soldier sets, but my wife did get me several nice model building tools out of the Micro Mark catalog (that I handed her!). A set of wire-bending pliers, a new soldering iron (variable output), etc. These will help me do more detailing and conversions, plus working on the scale models.

From a "toy soldier" point of view the best Christmas experience was when the grandson visited with a friend and they really got into playing with the sets of Conte plastic GIs that I had saved for him. The green ones were the "bad guys" and the tan ones were the "good guys".

12 x Meisterzinn Nurumberg 40mm metal moulds for Prussian 7 Years War figures.

These were being sold from a deceased estate and were brought from Germany in the 1950's and feature a couple of moulds not made today according to the current website.

Now its time to get casting....

I am pretty sure that you got a rare find there, a wonderful Christmas present.
Never ever saw the Airfix kit that comprised 2 mounted and 2 foot figures.
Finding that today in a Toy Soldier shop is rather unique.
Congratulations !!!
Konrad

P.S. Please show us some pics after you got them assembled and painted.

I know where there is one in a local toy shop, so maybe I should snap it up.... but I already have the 2 foot figures from my 1970's collection (kept safe at my Mum's for many years)
