ombat:I'm wearing anLA Rams jersey at the moment. The glory days of the 1960's. Roman Gabose riel, Deacon Jones, Jack Snow, Rosey Grier. A crime that LA does not have a pro football team.
What a rivalry that was. I still have nightmares about 1967 when the Colts went 11-1-2, just like the Rams. Rams got the division title because they beat the Colts in the last game of the season. Colts got a ticket home, no playoffs. Ahhhhhhh....... -- Alombat:
Combat: those years under George Allen out there were very special!!! I remember those ram teams, always liked Gabriel and those monumental games with thier division rivals Johnny Unitas and John Brodie........Stryker

Yes, those were great years, teams, and games. I am a die-hard Baltimore Colts fan who came of age during the 60's and boy, it was tough sledding. Those were great teams the Colts had during the 60's decade, but they always seemed to come up short. They lost the NFL championship to Cleveland in 1964 after a great regular season. They lost to Green Bay on that famous FG that actually missed, in a playoff. 1967 brought a superb year, 11-1-2, where they missed the playoffs (because of points deferential with the Rams) by losing the last regular season game to the Rams. And then there was 1969 where the Colts were all but unbeatable, going 13-1 regular season, setting defensive records everywhere, and somehow lost to the Jets in SBIII. The 60's were a special kind of torture for the Baltimore Colts and their fans. -- AlWOW Lancer: I watched that game too--it truly was a monumental game!!! Unitas had all those weapons and was having the best season he ever had, and the Rams had the "Fearsome Foursome" on defense. Those two games were very well played and great to watch all those future hall of famers in. It was really special to wath George Allen against Don Shula when both teams were almost identical. I thought the Colts had one of the greatest offenses ever seen, and the Rams had the best defense................Stryker

Yeah, I remember the incident like it was yesterday. Those were my favorite teams, Unitas my all time favorite player in the sporting world. Great days for pro-football. -- AlLancer: my favorite Colts were obviously Unitas, Mackey, and MAD DOG CURTIS!!!!! I remember Mackey catching a pass and either running thru, around, or over about eight 49ers I think it was. Curtis was in the Butkis mold---wanting to hit anything that moved! Remember when he flattened that drunk that ran out on the field during a game?.............Stryker
