What Toy Soldier items Have You Acquired in The Last 2 Weeks ? (2 Viewers)

I recently picked up a number of K&C pieces from their Napoleonics, Eighth Army, and Afrika Korps ranges. Amongst the pieces I picked up were "Gordons & Greys to the Front!," the Australian 25 Pounder, and the Sd. Kfz. 222 Armoured Car.
Cheers,
Brendan

WoW Roan , nice collection!

Thanks for the compliment, JPB.

For you pre-1966 lead Britains enthusiasts, I plan to gradually post many photos of sets and figures
from the collection I sold off in 2009 at Old Toy Soldier Auctions USA. I'll post these in the
Dioramas and Collections section of this forum.

Some of these photos(including the Wm. Hocker sets)were
from my informational web site-reatoysoldiers.com-dedicated to mostly old Britains,
now defunct{eek3}. Also included will be some figures and sets I’ve hung onto
since childhood which include some other makes like Elastolin plastic Saxons and knights,
siege equipment etc..

Enjoy

Wow, Your collecting focus is quite varied ! Congrats on all of the new items !

Thanks! I mostly collect Napoleonics, but my great-grandfather fought with the 8th Army in North Africa in the Second World War, so I've always had a soft spot for K&C's North Africa series! {sm4}

Cheers,

Brendan

I am starting to appreciate Conte more each day... Early days filling in my battle of Thermopylae

Got a nice set today, Ladies and Gentlemen :smile2:

King & Country, NA309, The Conversation.
Great set, in my opinion. Well done figures and poses. Only drawback, the Hussar sitting on the chair is fixed to the chair. Would have preferred when he and the chair were separate pieces, like they did in the older set NA082.
Nevertheless, I really like this set. I'm not much into displaying battles, but really enjoy "off duty" and "camp scenes".

Here are two photos of this set, along with an older figure, the Cantiniere.
How those two Hussars just keep talking with not only an attractive woman standing right next to them, but she also has some fine "refreshments" with her, that is just totally beyond me ^&grin :wink2:
Never thought that any Hussar could ignore an attractive woman, nor care less about some fine brandy ^&grin

Maybe here's the reason why they don't care much about the Cantiniere.

In the next photo you see this set combined with one of the figures of the older "seated" set, NA082.
Looks like that Hussar is telling them some most interesting info about the chest of loot he got under his arm, and they sure seem to be all ears ^&grin
Maybe he knows that there's more where his came from :wink2:

While the Hussars are deep in talk, a Cuirassier takes advantage of a refreshment the Cantiniere has to offer.

Very glad to see that these new Hussars came out compatible with older figures.

Looking forward to Chicago, to get to see more of these new Hussars.

Happy Collecting!

Konrad

I added a number of William Britain's Redcoats to my collection.

  1. WB43001 1st Foot Guards, Private, 1795
  2. WB44002 Grenadier 47th Regiment of Foot, 1775-1777
  3. WB44014 93rd Highlanders (Sutherland) Queen's Colour, 1854
  4. WB44018 Sergeant, 2nd (Coldstream) Foot Guards, 1822
  5. WB44032 84th Regiment of Foot Royal Highland Emigrants, 1779-1784
  6. WB50026C 93rd Highlander Loading, Crimean War, 1854
Most are no longer in production, so I was glad to be able to pick them up. :salute:: {sm4}
Cheers,
Brendan

I came across these two pieces in my collection which I had made many years ago as painted souvenir metal toy castings representing the Singapore Airlines stewardess carrying an iconic Louis Vuitton bag. The drop metal castings were made from two-part silicone rubber moulds. Painted in enamels with a gloss polyurethane varnish which has yellowed slightly over the years.

Maybe they are discussing who gets the Cantiniere ?
