And with that, TS Collecting for 2011 is a WRAP!! Crossing my fingers for Christmas.

Nice Greeks Mike!! Saw a few of the sets this weekend, almost pulled the trigger on the Greek Infantry set...just didn't have the funds. {sm2}

At Hackensack, a bunch of castings...

Tradition SYW Hungarian infantry officer
Reinikka SYW British grenadier and musketeer
I/R FIW ranger, or maybe Provincial infantryman, have to doublecheck
Vallance Lafayette at Yorktown (which was meant to be paired with Vallance's Washington figure)
Italeri 1/35 Town Fountain kit, for diorama/vignette use
A bunch of castings from Larry, thanks again very much! Includes some 20mm figures, possibly Stadden, some homecasts
Revell-Monogram's ProModeler SB2C Helldiver in 1/48
A small display case, about 4"x8"x4", a bargain at $5
A 54mm Bavarian in Tracht, cast by Mike Ferguson, painted by Bob Shoulberg, but original mold maker is unknown. Reminiscent of the Oktoberfest series by Little Metal Men. I'm going to strip and repaint the figure.

And from eBay, another Rylit figure, a SYW Prussian color-bearer.

The stash gets ever larger....

Prost!

Continuing with my UK collecting phase; received from Fusilier/Hussar/Tommy Atkins the following castings:

Three mounted Native American Indians ( to go on my Stagecoach shelf, as chasers!)

One mounted medieval Kniight in armour - (to paint as Owain Glyndwr).

Five Royal Marines in various poses, ( Uniformed as at Quebec, 1759).

Various Scots Pipers and other Jacobite figures.

Once again, very impressed with the quality and detail of these castings, (sculpted by Alan Caton), from the brothers , Mark and Paul Turner, who run Fusilier ( who also own the other two brands mentioned above). Looking forward to painting these over the winter too. johnnybach

Yesterday arrived via E-Bay a KING&COUNTRY WS066 Berlin 45`pak gun with crew and a Normandy Opel blitz truck.

Gentle Friends,

I am pleased and excited to report the latest acquisition to my collection. It is a set I have long wished to own. It is the William Hocker Set #192, Bushnell's Turtle. The set is included in Mr. Hocker's American Revolution line.

The set presents the first American submarine, which was designed by David Bushnell in 1776. As you might imagine, the submarine is primitive by today's standards and it relied totally on human power to operate. Pedal power was the mode of movement. The submarine was designed to allow the operator to bore a hole in the enemy ship's hull and attach an explosive charge to it. Drilling the hole was also to be accomplished by human muscle power.

From my perspective, this set is both charming and interesting. I will be posting a few photos of it in the William Hocker section of the forum. If you wish to view it, look for it in the Hocker section.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Hi Guys.

I have to admit that Pat has a really interesting and diverse collection I sincerely hope to view it someday in person!

I picked up 3 sets recently in my wanderings around Europe I found a store in Rome and left with a K&C WS 125 because my lovely wife said it was a very cool set! Always best to listen to your wife because it is a very cool set. I also found 2 more Frontline Glossy sets, one Crimean and the other a mounted Dervish. Very please to get both for what was retail when they were originally produced. Who says there arent some deals to be had out there still!

Should have a Nile Gun Boat on the way to me shortly!!!!

Dave
