I also got a Britains Collectors Club set from 2003 of The Gold Coast Regiment Colour Party on eBay. This is an example of me not paying close enough attention to what I already own. Now I have two of these sets plus the add-on Gold Coast Regiment set with four extra men. Oh well. I take it to the next West Coaster to sell.

I visited Dorset Soldiers today and collected my latest CASTINGS order which includes:

Three Cowboys for my Crescent Stagecoach - Driver, Shotgun guard and prone figure with rifle to lie on top.

Two Mounted Egyptian Lancers ( Britains set 115 lookalikes)

Seven Mounted Napoleonic Caribinearre Musicians - to complete my ten piece band (One has a non-standard Bombardon to fit - should be fun getting that over his head!!!)

Twenty piece Mounted 11th Hussars (Cherry-pickers) Band, with Escorting group (14 in band - 6 in Escort). Two more of my favourite bombardons to fit!

Six US Cavalry mounted figures - to convert to Buffalo Soldiers (new head cast especially for me by Giles) - which include a Guidon holder, trumpeter, two with six-guns and two with carbines. These were converted from a US 7th Cavalry figure by changing the head and borrowing weapons etcetera from other figures.

Should keep me busy painting for a while.

Also had a good natter to Giles about a new project that I have in mind for sometime next year involving a mounted Egyptian Cavalry Band. jb

I ordered a nine-figure mounted Italian Carabinieri Band with a drum horse from Hiriart for my friend, Bob Walker. When I get a photo of it, I'll post it for you. I had ordered it for this year, but they said they would have to delay making it. Hiriart also made a special non-catalog set of the 11th Hussars mounted band.

Here it is.

Cheers Mike - I have just bought twenty mounted castings of "The Cherry Pickers" as well, so that pic will come in handy as part of my small collection of artwork as a painting guide. Assume it's Hiriart?

My Band will have 12 members though, with additional instruments that yours doesn't have ( another benefit of painting your own - you get to choose what you put in) - I just love Bombardons - so my outfit will have two of 'em. Nice set you have there though. ^&grin johnnybach

Hi again Mike - as usual - I didn't read back through the posts ...............

Here's a pic of two of my Napoleonic Caribinierre Band which I had already completed. My new additional castings will just top them up to a band of ten eventually. Yes - please post your pic when you can - I like to see how others paint them too. johnnybach

I am a little more than halfway into purchasing a fantasic Heco Tinplate Models collection, so far obtaining, along with various duplicates, several models I had never had before, including a Whippet Tank, an Aerodrome Firetruck, two Fuel Trucks, and an entire mobile field hospital set (with R.A.M.C. tent, flying ambulance with pilot, motor ambulance, stretcher team with wounded Tommy, patient in hospital bed, stove, cook sergeant, and table of food for the patients), a R.F.C. bell tent, an Outhouse/Water Closet, and 4 standing tank and armored car commanders. ^&cool^&cool Look forward to seeing what the seller is willing to part with next!:wink2: For photos of most of the items mentioned above (and soon all of them), see the Heco Tinplate Models thread on the "More Glossy Manufacturers" subforum.

In the past, I have ordered the standard nine figure mounted bands with extra figures to flesh them out. For example, the Swedish Horse Guards Band comes with just two trumpeters with banners, so I ordered it with an extra trumpeter so that they would display drum horse & 3 X 3 while my friend Bob Walker ordered it with extra musicians so he could display it drum horse & 4 X 3. Here is what catalog set 1332 looks like.

Very nice looking figures. Hiriart's Carabinieri Band will have different uniforms---the classic Napoleonic era dress uniforms with soft caps still worn today in Italy.

Nice to hear that you have a manufacturer that will make you extra figures - at your request. A very refreshing attitude. Like the look of your latest post too - so will save for sometime in the future. REALLY nice glossies - and right up my street those! Thanks for showing - johnnybach

Just picked up another Edmund's ACW set, this is the 155th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Regiment.
