WOW,

You really have turned into one helluve painter {eek3} what incredible work. I smell a medal :wink2:. best Gebhard

And if you find them to expensive, you can do like I did in the last three years and paint !
This last guy took me more than 150 hours. Do you think he should sell for 50$ ?

This figure is a true "piece of art" and I don't even know how to put a price on it!
Again, as others have said, the value we put on discretionary objects is very subjective.
The manufacturers know their costs for design, raw materials, production, marketing and overhead. But pricing is not just a mathematical equation.
Pricing is also driven by market forces, supply and demand, consumer appetites and competition.
The only way we collectors can influence prices is through our buying habits. Obviously First Legion and other makers have found their market niche
and can price accordingly. If the market demands change they can adjust, as FL did with their "MB" range, cut production or stop making.
So if you are not happy with the pricing...don't buy or cut your purchases down......that's our choice.

Hi Alex,

Do you have other figures that you painted yourself ?

That would be very cool if you could do this.

BTW. Very very nice piece that you have done. 👍

Serge :)

For an identical scale product !!! In my opinion I think model "Russian studio" does not justify 10 times price reference FL .....{eek3}{eek3}{eek3}
I also painted figurines a long time ago and now I prefer to buy FL all painted because they are of value for money unbeatable!:tongue:
Best. Guy.:salute::

Hi Serge

Yes a few others. Now working on a medieval 75 mm figure.
But the way, I will bring them at our local figure show in Montreal in april. It is organized by 'figurine Quebec'.
Painting is not that difficult. But you need to experiment, do your research, etc.
You need to find a mentor at first like I did and then paint, paint, paint !

Alex,
Truly exceptional work on that Samurai. Good subject to choose for your considerable time and effort. Don't know why but there is something appealing about Samurai figures.

Hope it goes well in any competition entered.

Lately i'm collecting Thirty Years War figures...they are certainly wonderful (and i can't wait to add some spanish tercios to them) , but not diminishing FL figures i found that K&C are very similar. Obviously the fading and lighting of the FL figures are superior but you can certainly put K&C Richelieu near FL D'Artagnan! They stand perfectly together! By the way i agree on the fact that the quality/price of FL is the best on the market. In the next few days i'll post some other comparison between FL and russian figures (not too expensive btw, my budget doesn't permit it).

I have the FL 30YW duelists and love them. Truly fantastic.

I agree there are some K&C lines or figures that can mix with FL, but in my experience they are exceptions and not the rule. Mainly I am thinking of a few K&C Crusaders. Most of them are 100 or 200 years too early for the FL Crusaders, but the Hospitaller Bishop works well with my FL Hospitallers.

This is one reason I think the thread Julie does is so important to show these opportunities. It would be great for you to post your pictures there as well.

I really can't conceive mixing First Legion TYW with K & C as the painting and sculpting of these FL figures are even better than normal. In his post introducing the Three Musketeers sets, Matt indicated that

this set won an award at the prestigious World Expo in Stresa Italy summer 2014. Well, rather than release them as a kit, we decided the set was worth producing as the launch piece to our Thirty Years War figure range. As such, we have tried to emulate the quality we achieved on our competition entry so these figures have an even higher level of sculpting and painting then our normal figures and we sincerely hope you enjoy them.

Jazzeum you are right, i know Constantin from FB and follow his many shows...i was one of the many that urged him to make that little diorama available to the great public. Nonetheless i think they really go well together maybe because i don't have a similar figure to the D'Artagnan by FL (and probably i will not buy the four musketeers by K&C , i always imagined a dark haired D'Artagnan!). This is not to underrate the FL figures but probably give props to K&C that beginning a new range set an higher standard for its figures. Having purchased a new phone and having finally a decent camera i'll post more pictures from today on!

Thank you. I look forward to seeing them. I have all the TYW issued so far by FL and if I could add a figure or two while I await the Tercio, that would be good.
