who would wan't a K&c wittmann tiger with zimmerit? (1 Viewer)

Thanks mate will look forward to them,1 more TIGER isn't gonna hurt...........biggrin.gif

In answer to the original question - ME! The Tiger was mildly interesting, but I wouldn't spend my money to get a Wittmann tank, and if I won one as a door prize I would sell it to get something else. Sorry, but that's my honest answer.

Gary you really don't have to apologise for anything my friend, the many different collectors and how they collect are what helps make this hobby so interesting. Some folk would buy anything if the Germans made it, whilst others dislike German releases and only buy Allied sets etc, I'm somewhere towards the middle. I buy German sets because they were the opposition, but Brit/US/Canadian are by far my gave. Each to their own I say:smile2:

I wouldn't be adverse to a Wittmann Tiger done correctly. Perhaps a "career of Wittmann" series, starting out with his Stug and working through some of his various Tigers. I already have a Wittmann Tiger in zimm done by another maker but a correct 007 would be attractive to me. After all, one can never have enough Tigers.:wink2: -- Al

I would love to see a new Normandy Stug but I guess that wouldn't be Wittmans of course. As has been said before many times, the Riger does seem ever popular and there will always be collectors who missed out first time round.

Do the two not really go hand in hand. I would venture yes!!! Nice to chat about who wants one with the most notable or, one of, german tank aces Have always said a late war full zimm Tiger 1 was a must for the tiger collection. K&C did three ver early Tiger 1's so, it should be the next one they do

It was posted on the forum by K&C that there would be no more Tiger 1 tanks this year after the White one .I think the history side of the item very interesting & find it odd that people are not interested in that side of the hobby

I think your spot on. I did notice the snow tiger went disco very recently so, one left the kursk tiger 1.

I would expect one in the late war set up next year or early the year after.

That's what I remember, mate. Still, it is a signature tank of the war and would be nice to have.

The Snow Tiger is discontinued? Didn't see that, glad I got in early with that one, very nice it is too.

Rob

Its now in the back catalogue and, gone from both sites. A future K&C classic

Yes no doubt Mitch, easy to imagine this going up in price. So as you say just one Tiger out now.

Glad I got this one into the stable. Hard to believe this went bye-bye so fast. Great model. -- Al

The fact that two typhoon rockets were found in the field suggested that attacks had taken place I have read RAF reports that a half track was attacked in the near vicinity after the destruction of the tiger group so, that could explain the rockets

I would think its definately a tank on tank action that ended wittmans infamous career
Mitch

Nice pic .

Actually Mitch, and all joking apart, it will probably never be known which Tank got him for sure, main thing is someone got the B***** anyway!:wink2:. I do however agree re the Typhoon theory, after all Wittman was engaged from two directions at the same time, is it likely that a Typhoon swooped in at that very same time and delivered the killer blow, doubtful.

I'm patiently waiting for a late war Tiger 1 in Normandy camoflage, Wittman or no Wittman that doesn't matter to me. Perhaps next year. ^&cool

Kinda harsh talk Rob. Wasn't he a soldier doing his best for his country? If you depise him, why would you want a model of his vehicle? ^&confuse

In response to the original question, No, I would rather see the do something different.

The discussion about who got Wittmann is very much like the discussion that surrounds who got von Richthofen, only not as old or fierce. In the end, it doesn't matter accept as an exercise in history. It is the fascination surrounding these aces that makes the discussion interesting and thus the clamour to assign credit for the kill. Both aces died fighting for their country, killed by equally brave men fighting for theirs. As said before, absolute certainty as to who killed who so many years after the event is probably never going to be solved but all the discussion and educated answers sure make it interesting, to the extreme. How can anyone not like this kind of debate? This is what makes the hobby and history worth participating in. -- Al
