who would wan't a K&c wittmann tiger with zimmerit? (1 Viewer)

The discussion about who got Wittmann is very much like the discussion that surrounds who got von Richthofen, only not as old or fierce. In the end, it doesn't matter accept as an exercise in history. It is the fascination surrounding these aces that makes the discussion interesting and thus the clamour to assign credit for the kill. Both aces died fighting for their country, killed by equally brave men fighting for theirs. As said before, absolute certainty as to who killed who so many years after the event is probably never going to be solved but all the discussion and educated answers sure make it interesting, to the extreme. How can anyone not like this kind of debate? This is what makes the hobby and history worth participating in. -- Al

We all know the Aussies shot him down.......................beer.gif

Kinda harsh talk Rob. Wasn't he a soldier doing his best for his country? If you depise him, why would you want a model of his vehicle? ^&confuse

In response to the original question, No, I would rather see the do something different.

Hey Skeeterbuck, Harsh talk, maybe , maybe not. Thing is, it was total War that called for total commitment for total Victory. Yes he was serving his country, but he was a Nazi serving the most brutal regime and occupying a country he had no right to be in. I'm guessing the French people did not care who he was or what he was doing they just wanted him and all the Nazi's dead. I tend to echo Richard Attenborough's character in the Great Escape that went something along the lines of ' SS,Luftwaffe, Gestapo, there is no distinction they are all the enemy to be beaten.

I grant you my use of expletive was a little Harsh and apologise for that, but I must be honest skeeterbuck I cannot regret his death. He was a skilled Tank commander and his demise saved many lives from my country and that of our allies.

As for why I would buy such a set, because he was part of History that I've always been interested in and as such should be represented.

Sorry if you were offended by the remark, I did not think anyone would be when talking of any Nazi.

But the thread is about Thread: who would want a K&c wittmann tiger with zimmerit?
Not who killed him we are getting side tracked and getting Knarky about something that has nothing to do with the original thread....................^&confuse^&confuse^&confuse

Mate when did a thread on here ever stick to the title. At least this has stayed in topic about the tank and wittman himself than others bringing baseball or other nonsense into the thread. I said yesterday its a natural link I can't see why its bothering you as much

I doubt Wittmann ever played baseball... soccer, perhaps, baseball, no.

Well said Rob :wink2:

Thanks Neil.

Now back to thread, yes I'd buy one of these, although as I say I like my ' Wittmans last Tiger' , but with K&C updated realism on their AFV's a new release of this subject would be good to see.
