Why I Collect King&Country (1 Viewer)

Rob,
Couldn't help but notice the stacks on the shelves behind the last photo...is that your playroom or were you standing in the warehouse of K&C europe?^&grin
Ray

LOL! Ray, that's a K&C UK table at the London show:wink2:

Rob

Great Job of replicating a burned out Panther.Did the Brit airborne have enough marshmellows to go around ?

I collect K&C for one simple basic reason, which I think probably unite us all: toy soldier collecting is an oasis of idyllic happiness in my day to day life, and K&C has the best product range, quality and consistency, as well as communication with its customers, to fill up this oasis...:)

Gentlemen,
I have just re-read this thread for the third time and wish to compliment all who have participated. Great photos of dios, great comments, fantastic TS and the posts all of a civil nature. Well done, this is what IMO that this Forum is all about.
I salute you all.{sm4}{bravo}}
Cheers Howard

I second that! My new motto is learn or be helpful.

This is a great thread!
I'm new to posting and don't think I know it all but this is pleasant.
I hope I did not offend veteran posters with my opinion on the prices thread.
My intention was not to say that the forum should be a K&C LOVE FEST!
I like Coke and can't stand Pepsi. I don't send Pepsi repeated complaints regarding there product.
Again, thanks for the welcome to the forum.

Is it available to buy,Now thats a compliment Rob it is a great mat/dio and great K+C vehicles and troopers,BUT what a waste of a good PANTHER..............{sm4}

Nice dio Rob. It looks very realistic. But a burnt out Panther makes me feel very sad. I've spend almost 9 years repairing (real) tanks. Therefore a damaged/burned out tank is making me ... {sm2}

Oliver :wink2:

Nice thread BTW.

Because they are the best. Simmo.:salute::

Well, I only have a small number of TS and they're all K&C. So I'm not able to agree/disagree. But one I'm sure about: you certainly have made the best of it with your displays!

Why I collect K&C?
I started collecting 1/6 when I came across K&C. Then I found this forum and all you guys with your great collections. Three month later I've got my first KC soldiers, selling most of my 1/6 ... and have brought my credit card to it's limit {sm2}

Rob,

So the beach diorama with the landing craft, is that a K&C produced base, if so, would you be kind enough to let me know its K&C model number is please.

Cheers, Chris

Hey Chris, little tip here; be careful with this phrase, I am a Brit too, just over here keeping an eye on the colonies! Special if you live in Quebec Province...{eek3}

Thanks for the info Rob, I might contact you again when it comes time to actually constructing the dio. I appreciate the translation too, but fear not...I am a Brit too, just over here keeping an eye on the colonies! I left Stockton-on-Tees 4 years ago to set up home here. I am 28 and had always been into building tank/aircraft models but it wasn't until I got here and visited a toy soldier shop in Quebec that I got hooked on K&C. Being here has its advantages too, there is so much K&C stuff avavilable on eBay US, much more than there appears to be in the UK and I just have it shipped to the Canadian border, where I just so happen to work! Who says you should never mix work and pleasure!

Chris

That would be a good tip living in Quebec, but I am far from there in a little Loyalist town on the East coast

I was teasing you...I live in Ottawa-Gatineau region on the frontier between the English and French Canada..

I collect Medieval Crusades era figures and accessories. King & Country offers by far the greatest range of outstanding figures and accessories, including buildings, in this range. They continually release very unique figures - not just the standard one-on-one fighting poses. They produce not just the Crusaders, but an equal number of their enemy, the Saracens. I started collecting figures in 54mm beacuse of the first Crusades release by King & Country and I continue to be absolutely thrilled with each new release from them. Their most recent release of the mounted Crusaders and Saracens on camels is another example of the outstanding and unique figures that K&C produces in this range. I also collect some 54mm Crusades figures from other manufacturers, but King & Country continues to beat the competition hands down in this range. Thank you, King & Country, for getting me started and keeping me hooked in this exciting hobby.

First, have to start this thread by giving my compliments to Rob for a display of K&C AFVs and figures that really blew me away. Excellent use/placement of the figures in the dio, great job creating the scenery, wonderful photography.

They say a picture's worth a thousand words, and in many ways that pic sums up why I collect K&C in a way I can't articulate. Really evocative figures that combine to tell a story.

Simmo's displays are also quite nice, and hit the other reason why I love K&C - the variety of the range. At some point I'll have to put up my own pictures, but I too love having a shelves that represent different theaters of war and time periods. Hard to think of another manufacturer with as much range, and as much depth withing a range.

That said, a couple things I wanted to respond to.

A number of posters have said "this thread is what this forum is all about." I know those were meant as positive statements expressing welcome relief from some of the negativity that's been on this forum in the past month.

And to a great extent I agree with that sentiment. This is a hobby and primarily I'm here for fun, as I suspect. Combined with the note in the last dispatches about "the usual suspects" and Andy/Gordon's last replay...it did come off to me as a bit dismissive of some legitimate complaints that are aired here. Again, not what the posters intended, just a feeling I've had lately.

To me at least - this forum is a place to discuss both what is good or bad about K&C. For me it's mostly good. But I hope this forum continues to be a place where we can discuss in a civil what we like and don't like without being branded a "cheerleader" or "usual suspect.

Mark,

That really is very kind of you indeed, I really appreciate your words and glad you enjoyed the pics. I just love collecting K&C's AFV's and figures and sharing the hobby is a lot of fun.

Thanks again

Regards

Rob

Hi Chris,

Actually the beach base is not from K&C I built that too, but I appreciate the compliment mate!:wink2:

All the best

Rob
