Wittman Tiger (1 Viewer)

It did, as well as the oversized Panzer 4. I ended up selling both models..Michael

I was really startled by the size of the Sherman. It came out about the same time as the K&C winter Tiger, & both arrived on the same day. A Sherman is supposed to look like a pip squeak next to a Tiger, but this Sherman looked like it could bchslap that Tiger from Koblenz to Leningrad & back{sm4}. It'll look good in a diorama of it's own.

Had I kept the Sherman, I would have repainted it and added more stowage. The olive green seemed too dark to me, but I WAS BLOWN AWAY BY HOW METALLIC THE FINISH LOOKED and the detail. The size of the model created too many issues with the rest of my collection, including my CS stuff..:( Michael

You're making a Centuion?! Now THAT will be a monster. Korean War please. herioic Brit stand at Imjin River if you please. Lot's of dead commies on the floor don't forget

A Korean War Sherman with the Dragon Face paint on the front armor..Michael

I don't see anything that says CS is doing a Centurion tank. Did I miss something? I thought the Centurion crack aimed at Mitch was some sort of inside joke. Why would CS suddenly make a tank that doesn't fit any of the lines they produce?^&confuse -- Al

Thanks, Mitch. It is a really fine model. I know the scale issue is a worry, but I am just happy to finally have a tank that is correctly sized to my infantry. It is just so massive.:smile2: -- Al

All of this talk about overscale and being the "right" size, just enjoy it!!! IT is a bad a$$ model, one of the best cats we have seen in a long time with an affordable price for all. {sm0}^&grin
110 posts on this thread and it hasn't been said any better than this. -- Al

Cool a MK1 Centurion tank would be well cool tested in Germany just before the war, but I forgot Cs don't do British armour!

As just mentioned, over a hundred posts on an oversized Tiger, but not a Sherman or PzIV. What does that tell us? The market energy is behind Tigers.

It say Brain make what sell that mean anything German I'm sorry to say .

There was discussion about the eazy eight and the Panzer IV but, I wondered where Brian was taking his releases don't know if this interest is just cause its a Tiger 1 more this time about the scale issue and the fact that collectors are becoming very savvy and knowledgable about their sets and everything about them. I think this could have been any AFV it would have probably generated this much discussion

For me, it was because I already knew the first CS Tiger was 1/30, based on pure math. I could not accept the second Tiger as being correct. Michael

I like what Gustav and Jurgen had to say. They are just toys. Scale models like Dragon can be fun but fragile. The new models are a compromise and good enough for me. Have you seen the cost of a new tank model then all the add ons? I know they are not perfect but neither am I. {sm4}

I am beginning to think you guys like torturing yourselves. I still think you are a great bunch of guys though.{bravo}}

This myth/misconception that a Sherman is supposed to be a pip squeak next to a Tiger is half the problem. Yes, the Tiger was dimensionally larger and far heavier than a Sherman or Panzer IV, but it did not visually dwarf them. The CS Sherman looks pretty good when compared to figures and the German armor. Same thing for the Panzer IV. The historic pictures below illustrate my point.

It seems this scale issue has been beat to death. Even Brian has now said his 1/30th is meant to be in the same vein as 1/30th as used with industry figures. It's not a true mathematical 1/30 but meant to look historically accurate within the "1/30th TS genre". Sure, K&Cs vehicles may be a closer true 1/30 but their figures hardly are.

For fairness I think Maddaddicus should start a thread demanding that King and Country re-label all their figure sets as 1/28 as well. Truth in advertising to the buyer and all{sm4}.

On a more serious note, it seems come down to two camps, those who just want the vehicles to look historically correct with the industry standard sized figure, and those who want everything a pure mathematical 1/30. In the end, just buy what what you want. Neither side is more right than the other, it's personal preference.
