We love what you do, and I think our Web Sites will be tremendous entertainment for Military Modeling enthusiast and Collectors. In our case it will free us to pursue the theory of the marriage of Toy Soldiers and Scale Modeling, which we have been promoting for the past year. I have visited your site and I enjoy it very much. ...We might even burn a King and Country tank on our site if you keep giving us ideas :D Alex

Alex No No Dont burn a kc tank. I would give my eye teeth for one of those. Heck I send you a wood tank if you want to burn something. I do use pieces of scale models in my set ups such as broken up models in background for Damaged vehicles. I also use a lot of the 1:35 scale men for some set ups. It is ok to me to mix scales as long as you set them up in seperate units.
Will be looking forward to your site.
Have Fun
Charlie

When I was a kid we used to play in the "sand box". Well, it had sand in it once. We used to do a lot of stuff like that. Not that good, but we had fun. Thanks for the memories:D :) :D

Ok I went to honor bound web site. These figures are just wonderfull. But looks like this poor old country boy will have to win the lottery first. Guess I am stuck with my toys for now. The Field Kitchen is so neat. But at that price I will have to build my own.

All the dio's are great, it's great seeing all the different scales and brands. I try to keep my collecting limited, it's hard. I am big on Conte and TSSD WWII. But I find myself getting Barzo's Marx Airfix you get the picture. I always have six projects going at any giving time. I hope I can finish one and paint it up and post it. There is no law that says you can't put metal in dirt. Mike.

I might just draw the line there if i started collecting the nice metal I would probably have to put them in a glass showcase. I would love to see your pictures. Does airfix make metal figures ? I have Quite a few airfix figures and love them but they are all plastic. I have a hard time switching to metal maybe because I grew up with the little plastic figures.

Mr. Wood the Honour Bound and King and Country figures used in the Diorama are quite expensive as you can see. If I were you, I would continue with what you are doing. You have captured the hearts of the Forum members, and sometimes I am actually projected as evil for throwing dirt on these expensive products. I forgot if you mentioned if you had Forces of Valor and 21st Century stuff, but they are a tremendous bang for the buck.

We are really going to expand on throwing dirt on expensive stuff on our Web Site, where we can do it with reckless abandon. I think if you also use your site to take your art form to another level it will be a lot of fun. We can share ideas and who knows what where we will both end up. We are also starting to dabble in 1/72nd scale and that looks like it is going to be a lot of fun. Alex

Forces of Valor and some plastic...........

Hi Charlie,

Airfix stuck to plastic and they stopped producing new figures back in 1983 so unless the new owners of Airfix do something fantastic (like start up a 1/32 line again - unlikely, unfortunately) we're stuck with what we've got.

I just want to say that your dios are supurb. I think there is something very special about creating this sort of hobby on a tight budget and you've shown just how well things can be done for very little outlay. Like most of us probably had to do when we were kids. The hanger, fuel tanks, wooden tanks are brill. Please keep 'em coming.

Cheers
Simon

Hi Woody, you certainly have helped us to relive some of our childhood memories when life was simple and the best fun a boy could have was to play in the dirt. In Australia most kids used the plastic 1/32 scale Airfix soldiers which were, and still are, accurate representations of the real thing. And I'm sure I'm not the only guy that is amazed at the amount of realism you can make from bits of wood.

Woody:) hey I never had a nick name before coool !

Glad I could bring back some memories. I have also learned a lot from you all and appreciate how nice and helpfull you all are. I do have a lot of forces of Valor and 21st century items. And I have some of the newer Britians metal figures. They are neat. I have a lot of Original and recast Marx, Airfix, Matchbox some atlantic, Conte plastic and a wide assortment of other brands. I use construction guys for maintence Etc. I just paint them up to look military the best I can and they work great for support units. I buy trucks etc. From thrift stores Convert them a little and paint them some turn out good others not so good. I Take apart old VCRs Etc The circuit boards have many usefull items. Resistors Etc work well to fill up a supply truck A little Imagination goes a long way. I am always looking around in the garbage at work finding usefull little items to create something from.
Thanks again guys:)
Charlie ( Or is it Woody Now) ?

Here is a example. The cardboard boxes on left are made by cutting folding and gluing thin carboard Painted and string tied around them for binding. The wooden Ammo boxes on right are simply wood blocks Scored around the top to look like lids. Small strips of thin cardboard folded and glued in place to look like hinges and latches. Painted you have ammo boxes. The round containers in middle are resistors from a circuit board painted and glued in a group. The Barrels on left of building are small cardboard containers cut down and painted to resemble storage Barrels. The Oil Tank is a body powder container. Buildings are scratch made and covered with light bulb packaging material to resemble corrugated metal. The Men are construction guys repainted to look military. With a little imagination it all fits in in my mind anyhow and is a fun thing to do.:) Charlie (alias Woody);)

Absolutely stunning! You are an artist, with a great imagination. You and Gordon Neilson of K&C should get together sometime. You both have a knack for creating realistic buildings and scenery from cardboard and other recycled material.

Well I am not sure about being an artist but I do have a good Imagination. I just enjoy my little army and take great pride in making things for it.
Thanks:)
