World Cup in Brazil (2 Viewers)

I'm sure people in Spain will feel differently but if they do not make it through, they've nevertheless had an incredible run: a World Cup and two Euros. No one can complain.

Meanwhile, another of my teams, Uruguay, doesn't look too good. This would be an upset if the score holds.

Brad, what can I say?... Again, who would`ve wondered... Costa Rica!?!? This World Cup is starting with way too many surprises for my taste...{eek3}:wink2:

Yes, that was a bit of a surprise, wasn't it?

Certainly was! Now what a good game was Italy x England, great football display by both teams! Not that the Italians didn`t deserve the result, but I think a draw would have also been fair....

Fans,

Okay, thoughts on England? What the hell kind of cheeky performance is that? You let Italy do you like that? On to Japan...Honda sent a freaking bullet into the goal AND Ivory Coast is the favorite!

Love this game...

PS: Don't get me started on Spain!!!

Fans,

...and just like that Ivory Coast changes the entire scope of the game.

I love this game...

Entertaining match. England have some exciting young players, gave Italy some problems when they managed to attack at a fast pace but Italy is the better team. They controled the pace of the game when it mattered and shut the door in the final 15 minutes. England were then limited to guys trying to dribble through 5 Italian defenders, not such a good idea...^&grin. Pilro is absolutely sublime. Also Italy easily took advantadge of Baines being left alone on the left flank defence (Rooney does not defend the left flank does he^&grin?).

I watched the game in a totally packed British pub in Wilmington, DE. My neighbor at the bar plainly said: "It is my lot in life to see England lose."

I guess he was born after 1966. :)

First game in Brasília today, Equador X Switzerland, and I`m on my way to the stadium! Guess I`ll have to be in there to truly believe the Word Cup is here! The city is full of Equatorian and Swiss fans, but the bulk of the audience will be of locals...

Brad, can`t describe the feeling of driving 5 min from my house and getting to the stadium for a World Cup game, it`s almost surreal... There were people already leaving the stadium when the Swiss scored their 2nd goal. Can`t wait till the 23rd when Brazil will play Cameroon here!
Ley`s see Argentina today with Messi`s debut; the Bosnians have a though defense and wants to show competitively on their first World Cup! Needless to say, I`m hoping for a surprise like Uruguay had...LOL^&grin^&grin{sm4}{sm4}

Yes, it's a great feeling. I went in 1994 and saw two games at Giants Stadium. A definite excitement in being there. I'm sure it will be even better when you see Brasil. I'm sure it will be a fantastic experience!

John,

I had a lot of fun but I`m afraid I didn`t take any pictures today. The one I attach was taken at the same place a year ago, at the opening ceremony of Brasilia`s stadium, with its first game ever, which was also the opening game of the Confederations Cup (Brazil x Japan). I`ll try to take more pictures on the 23rd, when I hope to be there for Brazil x Cameroon.

Germany crushing Rinaldo and gang, 3-0 at the half. Bad week for the Iberian Peninsula. -- Al

I don't believe Portugal is as good as it used to be, plus Ronaldo is not completely fit. He also tends to do poorly in the Cup.

This could be good news for the US.

Don't blame you Paulo, why look at that Portuguese disaster when you can look at this masterpiece...LOL{sm4}{sm4}
Como dizemos aqui no Brasil: que gostosa!
Abraços,
Carlos

The Nigeria Iran match is dreadful. All the Nigerians can do is kick the ball deep. Not much creativity. A scoreless match wouldn't shock me.
