USA won!! Same score of 2006 and 2010, but this time to the American favor! :wink2:^&cool
 
US got a win by the skin of their teeth. Seemed to me that Ghana spent the game in the US end. But we'll take it. The US goalie played well. -- Al
 
It was a great win and gave the US a measure of revenge over Ghana. As Portugal has a rather poor goal differential, they now have a decent chance of getting out the group phase. It is great to see all the support people are giving the team.

I have a couple of minor complaints dealing with fashion: Day-glo colors and mis-matched shoes should be illegal. They are distracting and give me a headache.:rolleyes2: Plus, those stupid 'mad rooster' haircuts have got to go. ^&grin -- Al

I really feel bad for Algeria and I think they got screwed on that non-call on the tackle before Belgium went on the counter that resulted in what probably is the winning goal.

Al,

Okay, your talking about the Ghana Mo-Hawks that are bleach blonde right? If so, this is the conclusion that me and the framily came up with. They want their MOM to be able to see them on the field...plain and simple. How could you miss meijo if you got this blonde stripe running through you pompadour bro? If I was playing I would do something a little wacky too to have my MOM see me.

Now onto the shoes...brilliant idea! But, you got to look beyond the headache brother. This one is a C-O-N spriracy by the shoe manufactures to have kids want to do the same thing on their feet...hence now Mommy and Daddy have to buy you TWO pairs of the same shoes so they can be like so and so. The marketing genius who came up with that one is going to get a huge bonus!

More on Ghana...their uniforms are awesome with the little Kwanza ribbon around the neck and arm cuffs. I have not seen too many other LOUD uniforms, but I have not been able to see all the games.

Great game by the USA and I am worried about the supreme flopper Josie Altidore. Don't get me wrong I like him and he can put the "stank foot" kick out there, but he is a flopper and we know it! When Josie went down, all I could think about was Landon Donovan and WHY is he not on the team?????

Lastly a couple of observations:

-The players are DRENCHED in sweat...good lawd it must be humid
-If the ball is not kicked perfectly to Ronaldo he won't even move
-The USA played extremely sloppy and will not advance if they continue to do so
-I wonder how much a beer is at the matches
-I wish they would show more Brazilian hotties

Ochoa - the goalkeeper for Mexico just played the best game I can remember ever seeing a goalkeeper play. Including several spectacular saves and one so amazing it belongs in the top 10 saves of all time. The ball had gone toward the extreme lower corner of the goal and went half way over the line but Ochoa got a hand on it. How he directed the ball past the back of the post and out was amazing.

Mexico used a strategy of 5 back defensively to stop Brazil offence and Mexico limited their offence to long shots hoping one would go under the bar.

I only saw half of the Mexico Brasil match as I had to get on the road but Brasil missed their chances in the first 25 or so minutes as Mexico got stronger as the first half wore on.

Yep Terry, you`re absolutely right! The other problem was that Brazil didn`t block the outlet of Mexico`s ball already on their defense field, giving the Mexicans too much playing space... Next Brazil`s game against Cameroon will be here in Brasilia and what seemed just a comply with the game table now became an important match, and I`ll be there in the stadium to witness!
