your top 3 favorite sporting moments (1 Viewer)

Great subject.

Top 3 is hard to pick since there are some really great events to discuss. I think my favorites for today are as follows:

#1 attending the MLS Semi-finals at Seattle with my daughter, Sounders are just a great team to watch!

#2 Watching Baseball in the kitchen with my dad October 2nd 1978, Yankees v Red Sox... can you say Bucky Dent... Lead to back to back series wins was a great thing!

#3 Taking my boys to 2 season openers last year Baltimore vs Yankees which was unfortunately a loss but still great fun, Seattle when Ken Griffey Jr entered the field it was amazing and my boys 7 and 1 loved all the excitement!

1) Michael Jordan coming to the Bulls. The same year I got season tickets.

1.England vs Brazil ,world cup 1970 , Banks save from Pele, the greatest save ever, 2.Steve davis vs Dennis Taylor 1985 snooker world championship, final frame, 3. Scotland vs Holland World Cup 1978,Gemmells wonder goal beating 5 players to score the goal of the tournament and recently voted as one of the greatest goals of all time ( was even in the movie Trainspotting). ken

1) 1999 Gillingham v Manchester City, 2nd Division (old 3 division ) playoff final, Gillingham score twice in the last ten minutes 2:0, City pulled one back with three minutes to go and equalised in added time 2:2, then won on penalties after extra time. Paul Dickov's last gasp goal and Nicky Weaver's penalty saves.........Followed by successive promotion to premier league next season on final day at Blackburn but this was the special moment. Etched in the heart of any supporter of that era.................average 28-30,000 fans all season - this was still top ten support in the premier league what other club would match that level of support at that third tier of football?

2) 1989 Manchester City v Manchester United, the City kids, raised through the youth team versus Fergies expensively assembled all stars - City not favourities. City win 5:1.

3) 1966 England v Germany at Wembley, England won the World Cup, 'they think it is all over - it is now' - winning 4:2 in extra time after the Germans equalised at 2:2 in the last couple of minutes..............a great game against formidable opponents, and unforgetable moment.

1967------ICE BOWL Green Bay wins on last play of game under brutal conditions

1976------Oakland Raiders win first world championship after being close so many times.

1972,73, and 74------Oakland A's win three in a row---what a bunch of rowdy but great players those teams had!!!!
