Just added these two to the collection. These are castings from Peipp Miniaturen that I had painted in Russia by Nevskaya Miniatura. I just love the Peipp figures and man alive, did Tatyana's people do an amazing job on these! I truly couldn't be happier with how they came out!
The First is the wine cart and the second is a mounted figure of Johann "Tilly" Tserclaes, Count of Tilly.
I had her do the ground work fairly simply so as I add figures to this set. I can place them all next to each other and have it look right.
I picked this up when I was in Texas for the San Antonio show. I am absolutely in love with it.
It is a diorama of Henry VIII (and based on Henry's appearance, we assume it's Jane Seymour). The figures are from Aeroart and the diorama was made by Vitaly Puzenko - who I consider to be one of the best!
This is the IDF Ford Ambulance with medical crew from Ready for Action's Arab Israeli war series.
K&C IDF 026 and 027
The Fairy from Blacksmith Miniatures - painted by Jean Luc Brisset. This is a series of fairies, gnomes, etc based on the art of Jean Baptiste Monge. Some of them are really spectacular. I was an early supporter of the kickstarter for them, so one of the rewards was this painted figure. If interested in the artist that these are based on, here is his website . http://www.jbmonge.com/
Over the past few weeks, I've picked up some First Legion pieces. The new 75mm figures are absolutely stunning and I could not be happier with them. And the Persian Elephant??? WOW - It really is a wonderfully created piece!
I recently had models made of two of my father's (deceased) airplanes. The first is a "Riley Rocket" conversion of the Cessna 337 Skymaster. Riley was a company that modified aircraft. This had custom turbo props for more power, an anti ice system and lots of other upgrades. This was the "family" plane. The second was the "fun plane" . It's a Pitts S2B. My father did aerobatic training in Florida with Patty Wagstaff (any pilots may be familiar with her) and he and I would take this little sportster up on weekends just to horse around. The craziest thing we ever did was to fly to Nantucket upside down!!!! It had a fuel pump so it performed equally as well upside down as right side up. in the Pitts, you were required to wear parachutes. My father's favorite line when he took people up in it was "If I tell you to jump and you say "what", you're going to be talking to yourself"!
The last photo is just me and him cruising around!
Very cool Zach!^&cool^&cool My deceased father in law was an amateur pilot and had family planes. When my wife was applying to college, he flew her to all of her interviews. The wood prop from one of his earlier planes hangs in my mother in law's house.
My latest pachyderm has arrived!!! Can you ever have too many elephants?
This is the latest from the amazing Olga Kropotova. It is a Siamese War Elephant. The details are amazing - check out the buckles and patterns! I truly could not be happier with this acquisition! I wanted one since I first saw it at the World Expo last year.
Great pictures & scale models. Too tall for the Pitts but I have a few hours in the Skymaster and I really liked that kite. Saw one the other day and all I could think about was BAT-21 again. I assume your father had the pressurized version with the “hush kit.”
