Here's a Modern ride, a Metal cover by Norwegian band 'Jorn' of the Crazy 80's hit 'Ride Like the Wind' by Christopher Cross.

Here they are Live, they don't look to Modern :D

This is a fantastic cover, thanks for sharing, I added it to my playlist.

J D (John David) Souther - New Kid in Town.

It's almost Twelve months since JD Souther passed aged 78, what a great singer/song writer, having written major hits for The Eagles, Linda Rondastadt, James Taylor etc.

Here he is singing one of his more famous songs; 'New Kid in Town', released on his 'Natural History' album back in 2011. And the guy dated Linda Rondstadt and Stevie Nix, what a Legend!

I love all kinds of music, but mainly Rock, I was an early adapter of digital recordings and trashed most of my record collection long ago. This is one of the few records I kept for sentimental reasons being one of my Dad's favourites that he used to play on our Kriesler Stereo 6 Mulitisonic that had pride of place in the Kitchen/Dining room. Despite being almost 'as new' it was tossed out along with a lot of other stuff as none of us still lived in our 'home' town, these days it's no doubt worth a lot of money as a 'collectable'. Makes me wonder what will become of my Toy Soldiers  🥲

Whoops I forgot that the old Kreisler Stereo was replaced before my dad passed away by a second hand Grundig RPC system supplied by one of my brothers. Despite being several years old it was a very modern looking system with a Dual turntable, cassette player and radio. The turntable didn't work, prob only a busted belt but who can buy Grundig parts in Australia in the 90's. In any case my dad was more into cassettes by that stage and the speakers were amazing, I kept them until the early 2000's when they were sold in a garage sale along with my NAD sytem, i recall that the buyer was really really happy, but I didn't care, I was, and still am a digital kinda guy.

I loved ACDC with Bon Scott in the seventies and probably pissed a few people off playing my records of them. A few years back I added a set of some live CD's from the seventies to my collection. I particularly liked Gone Shootin' [Live in Cleveland Jul'77].

I couldn't find it on you tube, so this is a substitute of decent quality. Very good to fight any swelling in the legs.

Great choice, I just checked my Spotify Rock playlist, have Six AC/DC songs on it, my fav song is Thunderstruck, their official film clip has some unusual and now iconic shots.

'Pub Rock' ruled in Australia back in the 1970's/80's, a time when you could get cheap tickets to see Cold Chisel, AC/DC, The Angels etc. It's hard to choose a favourite but I really liked The Angels back then, and still do, they released some iconic Aussie Rock songs such as 'Take a Long Line'. This clip is from Countdown which was a very popular Television show televised on ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) from 1974 to 1987, the show was instrumental in promoting numerous local and International bands, ABBA being one of many.

The Angels...Take a Long Line...Countdown 1978.

Whoops, I accidently quoted myself there by using the 'Reply' function instead of 'Edit', but a good excuse to add another film clip more appropriate for a lazy Sunday morning downunder, considering my neighbours are prob upset about my loud rock songs this morning :D

I liked the 'Bosch' TV series that is based on the famous 'detective' novels, Bosch had a passion for Jazz music, call me a late adapter at 66 y/o but I do like 'mellow' Jazz, especially tunes played by Art Pepper, who doesn't like great Sax, bring it on Patricia ;)

Art Pepper...Patricia

Oz - Thanks for the Angels, I had never heard of them I am afraid.

Matt - you quiet jazz fan you. Like you I like melodic jazz, this is great - I have not listened to him before. I might post some melodic jazz sometime, but your last post reminded me of this.

At the time and since - it was one of the best twin rock guitar solos I can ever remember. Tragic loss.

I wish You Tube would post just the track I labelled - New Bues by the Buddy Rich Big Band - and not add their own playlists!
