US/Israel Launches Op Epic Fury Against Iran (3 Viewers)

Oil went up to 119.47 per barrel at it's peak last night...dropping back to about 102.00 now...
Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics, recently said “a good rule of thumb” is to assume that for every $10 per barrel increase in oil prices, the cost of a gallon of regular unleaded will rise by 25 cents...

Qatar warned on Friday oil prices may reach $150 per barrel within three weeks if the war shuts down commercial traffic in the Strait of Hormuz...

Higher costs for oil and gas will spread to the costs of other goods and services, particularly those relying on trucks for transportation. Higher prices for airline tickets aren’t out of the question. Grocery bills and electricity prices will also follow suit if the war drags on...

Great, just wonderful.

One of my investments has completely tanked, I've lost 8 months of gains in 10 days, it's trending to fall below the amount I put into it a year ago.

Nothing to worry about, just play the long game will be the excuse.................how long will it take to get back to where it was 10 days ago, I suppose no one can tell me that right?

Looks like I'll be selling toy soldiers until I'm 102 years old.

I can't hang on another 30 years...not gonna happen...
might be time to buy soon...

Can't wait to see the stickers at the gas stations of fatso pointing to the price of gas with the quote "I did this!" like I saw when gas hit 5.00 a gallon under Biden.

Speaking of which, he's laughing his rear end off right now isn't he, what goes around comes around.

Can't wait for fatso to try to talk his way out of this one "We have alotta oil, alotta oil, I'm not worried that there has been zero ship traffic for a week, not worried, we're winning the war, dropping alotta bombs, alotta bombs, Iran will give up soon, they are good people, good people, their new leader Hasan Been Sobar will work with us, he'll work with us."

Man was that a fun Chicago show, have to say my most favorite ever, got smashed Friday night and was all banged up on Saturday.

But it was worth it..................;).

My show helper Larry has completely gone off the grid, haven't heard boo from him in close to a year, sort of sad, I hope he's ok.

I'm gonna watch FOX tonight to see them try to put a positive spin on this.

I'll need hip waders to walk through the BS they'll be spreading.

Just admit this is an economic disaster vs sugar coating it.

Come November, fatso is toast, he'll never recover from this.

If the Democrats are smart, they'll nominate the most moderate person in their party in 2028, but they can't help themselves and will instead nominate some left wing whackadoo socialist nitwit instead.

We need a change, period, this is not working.

At all.

See, this is what's great about being an independent, I can dump on both parties, I have no dog in either fight.

my pick for the Democratic party...

Arizona Senator Mark Kelly is widely considered a moderate Democrat, often ranked as one of the most bipartisan senators...

I consider myself an Independent too...leaning left...I like some of the things Trump has done...and dislike others...trying to keep an open mind...

I hope nobody jumps down my throat on here for saying that...

Mike, when your financial guy tells you "don't panic, it's just a paper loss, the market will bounce back" does he also tell you when you're making big gains "don't get too excited, it's just a paper gain, the market will correct itself"............

SO WHICH IS IT, A GAIN OR A LOSS, IT CAN'T BE TWO THINGS AT ONCE.

It's annoying, as in very.

I see Australia will grant asylum to the Iranian woman's football team, after Iranian state broadcaster referred the players as traitors after refusing to sing their national anthem while playing against South Korea in Aussie, with all indications they would be imprisoned on their return to Iran.

Trump has now also lent US support for these players.

Sadly it appears several players feel they have no choice but to return, due to threats made to their families and obvious safety concerns.

Unless some completely uncalculated circumstance arises don't fear. When the bombing, missile strikes are over in a few weeks your portfolio will recover. Give it a few months and the Dow will be knocking on 50000. George you got more time to recover than me and I'm not that overly concerned. This is why I like a Trump. I have seen clips when biden & harris were in office and a reporter would ask them what they would say to Iran if the were developing a nuclear weapon. Both there response were "Don't". I'm sure the ayatollah was pooping in his sandals. What did Trump say when asked the same question? "I'm going to bomb the s--- out of them". And he did. Back to politics. The only Democrat I would consider voting for president is Fetterman from Pa. I remember when he first ran for the senate I thought he was half a retard but now he is on my favorites list. However my first choice right now would be Rubio.

So credit where credit is due Mike; just like my finance guy said, the huge hit I took over the past 10 days; HALF of that hit bounced back today after the news that ships are moving again, keep an eye on gas prices to start to fall as well.........................

Fetterman or Shapiro would get my vote; the rest of the Democrats are far too extreme left for my taste, had enough of that with Biden and Harris, no effing thanks to that again, four years of nonsense, the money they spent on things is staggering, all that WOKE/DEI/green new deal crap, utter nonsense.

The problem for Republicans is the vice president usually gets the nomination, not a fan of Vance, I too would vote for Rubio.

Let's hope so Mike, I've watched a lot of videos of drones attacking Russian soldiers, actually feel sorry for them sometimes, it must be terrifiying to be pursued by those things. I've seen them fire their personal weapons at them but they must be hard to hit, four barrells should do it.
The news outlets continue to concentrate on missile interactions similar to the earlier Iraq war, meanwhile Drones are proving difficult to counteract.
here is some good news...hopefully...

U.S. officials have said they are struggling to stop waves of drones launched by the Islamic Republic and that they are bringing in an American anti-drone system proven to work against Russian drones in Ukraine. The system known as Merops also is cheaper than firing a missile that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars at a drone that costs less than $50,000.

Defense contractor Lockheed Martin posted on X late Friday that it had agreed to “quadruple critical munitions production” and “began this work months ago.” Trump and Lockheed did not offer a timetable of when the production increases would reach their target.
Mike, I took some time off my home reno work and checked out your above links, and others, concerning drone attacks from Iran against neighbouring countries, and of course drones are being used against US military targets including early warning RADAR installations etc. They are certainly an effective and efficient weapon that can be purchased off the shelf, and are proving to be more difficult to stop than believed. I note they can be controlled via commercial satelite systems usually used for aircraft etc, making them more difficult to counter.

Oil prices are one of the last bastions of true flexibility when it comes to what consumers pay for daily life.

Just about everything else only goes up.

Hopefully the market will recover and this is just a "blip" in your portfolio. The stock of a company I worked for many yrs ago lost 40% of its value last yr, long before this war with Iran. Feel badly for the people I worked with whose 401Ks are now almost half of what they had been. When I retired for the second time I put most of my investments into annuities. I don't get the full benefit of a bull market, but don't ever lose money. Something to consider.

Mike,
To your point; prices on everything are going to go up..............notice the one guy says "this is not over yet, expect prices to go up another .50 cents a gallon"...........so basically 1.00 a gallon they will go up, now it will cost you an extra 15.00 to 25.00 to fill up your vehicle depending on the size of your tank.

And the other point is valid; the longer this drags on, the more it will hurt at the polls come November.

Good to know Trump "Knew prices would go up" and thinks "they did not go up as much as he thought they would"............must be rough for him when he fills up his vehicle..........oh wait.

well

you are right...but if the US can get control of the Straight of Hormuz...escorting tankers of oil out of the area...I think/hope that could alleviate a good portion of the increases per barrel...this could work out...

I am concerned about Mojtaba Khamenei and the IRCG pledging fealty to him...as he is a "hardliner"...

and may have a personal agenda as his mother...his wife and a sister were killed in the same air strikes that killed his father...
to lose 4 members of your family...

that must have caused a ton of anger and resentment to the US...maybe indicating that his has little desire to agree to a deal or negotiations...

or it may push him into a deal...who knows?
