Things that annoy me (4 Viewers)

you're a brute...lol...good story...but sad racial profiling exists and is supported by some...
I can laugh about it now, but going through it felt awful; I did not "swerve and almost hit their cruiser" I was not mouthing off or acting in a threatening manor, these troopers could have gave a crap less, it was almost like they were determined to find a reason to lock me up.

Thankfully they dialed things back and basically let me go home and no formal charges were filed against me.

And OH BOY was my Pops pissed.

And not at me.

again...sad story....but I'm sure it's true that some officers do promote racial profiling...

and as far as an ICE funding agreement is settled...it's an issue that a lot of people want changed...

they found you guilty before you got out the car...

My Dad never liked the fact that I hit the gym so hard, said I completely overdid it and I had a bullseye on me as a result, he used to famously say "Every 5 foot nothing wannabe wants to take down a guy like you so he can brag to his friends" and "Someday you're going to run into the wrong guy"...........funny; all these years later, someday hasn't come.

First, I don't condone racial profiling. Second, it is interesting on the historical success of those programs.

Here is a story - Maryland State Police used to patrol the I-95 corridor between Baltimore north to the State Line with great success rates (Many stories at the time). They would pull over any car that had certain traits as drug interdiction stops. The interesting thing is, it was effective. I don't remember the stats and this is going off memory of news reports - 76% of the stops made led to arrests for drug trafficking. Furthermore, I believe at the time, the conviction/plea rate was near 80%. They stopped the program due to complaints it was racial profiling. I believe that the police had worked up a profile based on the historic drug trade issue in Baltimore during this era - late 70s to late 90s. If you look at that time in Baltimore, 99% of the drug trade was in the hands of one minority group. Therefore, the profile was heavily weighted.

Yeah, me too, plus there are so many fruitloops out there who are into MMA and would choke me out and that would be that, long gone are the days where it was a classic throwdown, these guys are certifiable, no thanks.

Great story...

I'm glad you posted this...this is a perfect example of racial profiling...

racial profiling is widely considered a form of racism and discrimination...as it involves law enforcement or other authorities using race, ethnicity, or national origin...rather than individual behavior...to suspect someone of a crime...it disproportionately targets minority groups like African Americans, Latinos and Muslims...leading to systemic inequality...

when I mentioned on here the other day...that racial profiling was on the Democrats "no-no" list for an ICE agreement on funding...

a Frogger responded on my post...”No racial profiling? You have got to be kidding?”

as he apparently seems to think racial profiling is okay...or doesn't understand the concept...

George's story tells how seriously wrong and racially motivated racial profiling is...

even George's father (an ex-policeman) after hearing the story...telling George...

"A big, massive Italian looking kid driving a Mercedes, welcome to racial profiling in reverse."

George was arrested and detained just cause George looked a certain way...

that Frogger that supports racial profiling...feels ICE has just cause to stop and detain you because of the way you look...

I cannot subscribe to law enforcement using racial profiling...it's wrong...
Mike you just don't seem to understand what I'm saying. I give up trying to explain this to you. As the old saying goes "walk in my shoes" . One more time plain and simple. If you nare in an area where blacks are committing the vast majority of crimes you stop blacks. Sounds pretty basic to me. And one more point. You know what really stops crime? Not these funded community programs etc. but pro active policing. Pro active policing is stopping individuals who look suspicious or match a descriptions of wanted subjects. Some people and I bet you are one, may frown on this but this is what prevents crime. They did a great job doing in this in New York city a few years back but that ultra liberal mayor diblasio put a stop to it and crime went out the roof.
