But during Iraq war the US received help intelligence off of Iran to topple Saddam.
Didn't that in the long run help Iran to get more powerful?

Wayne, Iran - Iraq war that didn't settle anything, cost a million plus lives and lasted eight years, 1980 -88, so not surprising that Iran would be happy to strike at saddam.

Israel has repeatedly pointed out that Iran is one of the oil richest countries in the world and the thought that they need alternative energy is preposterous.

They want nuclear weapons to destroy the Jewish people.

During a civil war. There was also very little or no presidential security in the 1860s. The current situation is completely different. The individuals committing these acts are otherwise normal people. They accept death or arrest as part of the calculation. They appear to have been radicalized by the drumbeat of reckless rhetoric on social and mass media. Whether intentional or unintentional that propaganda is having a PSYOP-type effect. That has taken many forms. In some cases, for example, American Jews are taking the side of the Iranians who would destroy Israel and murder them if they had the opportunity. In other cases, otherwise normal people are climbing on buildings or running down the hallways of hotels with guns to assassinate the president. Such things are inexplicable except as the product of some type of propaganda campaign.
