Having taken delivery of the latest Confederate characters Lee/Stuart and Jackson/Longstreet-I was immediately struck again with the excellent poses and wanted a scenario were they could appear all together in a small dio. Lee loved living under canvas whilst on campaign so I quickly knocked up the inside of his tent using some canvas, the wife's cuticle sticks and coffee paddles for the duck-board floor and big enough to take the Lee campaign furniture.
At first thought that the eve of Lee's first invasion of the North would be ideal as the four were together on the night of 2nd Sept 1862 to plan the move into Maryland. But having noted that recently it appears that the flavor of the month on the forum is absolute historical accuracy I quickly ditched that plan as Lee had fell off of his horse the day before and would have had both hands in wooden splints.
Plummed instead for a meeting held on August 15th 1862 during the Battle of Second Manassas with Jackson's proposal to move against Pope's army who had their backs to the confluence of the Rapidan and Rappahannock. The pose of the Jackson figure is perfect by holding a map explaining his plan to his commander-Likewise the Longstreet figure is also spot on as he was a prudent man, cautious by habit, stubborn in manner and on this occasion he was definitely not keen on splitting the army into two-the figure's body language states it all.
There was one other person at that meeting Lee's adjutant and chief aide de camp Lt Col Walter Taylor I therefore used the K&C Confederate officer figure for him. Sometime later during the course of this war counsel JEB Stuart arrived from Richmond and joined the meeting.
Not your era guys I know
but hope you find some enjoyment looking at the pictures.
