Having taken delivery of the latest Confederate characters Lee/Stuart and Jackson/Longstreet-I was immediately struck again with the excellent poses and wanted a scenario were they could appear all together in a small dio. Lee loved living under canvas whilst on campaign so I quickly knocked up the inside of his tent using some canvas, the wife's cuticle sticks and coffee paddles for the duck-board floor and big enough to take the Lee campaign furniture.

At first thought that the eve of Lee's first invasion of the North would be ideal as the four were together on the night of 2nd Sept 1862 to plan the move into Maryland. But having noted that recently it appears that the flavor of the month on the forum is absolute historical accuracy I quickly ditched that plan as Lee had fell off of his horse the day before and would have had both hands in wooden splints.

Plummed instead for a meeting held on August 15th 1862 during the Battle of Second Manassas with Jackson's proposal to move against Pope's army who had their backs to the confluence of the Rapidan and Rappahannock. The pose of the Jackson figure is perfect by holding a map explaining his plan to his commander-Likewise the Longstreet figure is also spot on as he was a prudent man, cautious by habit, stubborn in manner and on this occasion he was definitely not keen on splitting the army into two-the figure's body language states it all.

There was one other person at that meeting Lee's adjutant and chief aide de camp Lt Col Walter Taylor I therefore used the K&C Confederate officer figure for him. Sometime later during the course of this war counsel JEB Stuart arrived from Richmond and joined the meeting.

Not your era guys I know ;) but hope you find some enjoyment looking at the pictures.

A little creativity and ingenouity and there you go, a sensational backdrop to some fine K&C Rebels. Really enjoyed your scene, don't ever apologize for posting these on this forum. Treefrog isn't exclusively the domain of WWII. In fact its nice to see the "soldiers" front and centre for a change instead of all the rivet counting about WWII vehicles.

Cheers
CFM :)

If I could afford to, I would hire you as curator and fly you over to set up dioramas in the museum. That is just too freakin' cool!!:cool::cool::cool:

Great to see some different pic's mate! ;) Well done, thanks for sharing.:)

As much as I enjoy the WW2 period, I still get a kick out of seeing dio's like this. Excellant work dude!

Would love to see some pic's of a AWI dio if anyone has any?? :D

Cheers Toddy

Not an era I study, true, but I appreciate it everytime someone is creative with their figures and posts pictures for us to all enjoy.

As always Reb, sensational.

Absolutely excellent.........I plan on picking up these figures my self and putting together a like kind of vignette only on the outside of the tent....but your excellent presentation may make me think other wise. Thanks for the incentive.......Walt Damon

I have yet to see a bad dio from UK BOB Great stuff yet again !!! Good to see you posting :)

UKReb. Great diorama i really enjoj your A.C.W. dioramas they look so life like. THANKS .

Reb, that's a very convincing display you have there, I like the subdued colors.

once again an amazing display. It must be difficult to get the lighting right on a closeup in an enclosed space.

Mate wish i could just "Whip"up a tent that is quite brilliant, clever man well done.Great camera work to thanks for sharing.

This is just fabulous. It is what I have envisioned for those figures, but few could bring it to fruition the way you have and always do.

This is a great shot Bob...the set up...the poses...the clear photography work...this is really a nice scene...the floor looks great and by the way...they sell wooden sticks by the bag full at any Wal Mart or hobby shop.
