Well, here is a neat one! From Holz Modellbau of Germany. Long out of production. Hand crafted, all Wood Junkers JU 52. I believe there were 3 or 5 of these made.

You should have seen the shipping box, had to break that one down and exacto knife it up before my better half saw it or else she would have stuffed me in it!! I was very lucky to acquire this piece of art (Of course that is my opinion), I hope you like the photos. Oh, just to show the size, my little man got in a photo, I am not a big fan of posting pics on the net, but in my neck of the woods, the spirits of Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson are alive and well in my household, so I don't have too much trouble..................:D

Anyhow, on to the show. You will notice 2 K&C German Glossy Pilots and lo and behold, there is K&C Clark Gable on the wing trying to make off with the Junkers!

Wow Tom!! Awesome!!:cool::cool::cool::cool:

It looks bigger than my K&C one - what is it scaled to 70mm figures?:eek:

Tom mate,
An absolute Beast. Great pick up. I hope you are bringing that to Chicago?????? I know what you are going thru with the wife. Had the same problems when the big Lancaster arrived from HK. The little fella looks like he's enjoying it too. Top photo, cobber.
Cheers Howard

Louis, it is big! Probably 65-70mm is closer to scale. That said, on the ground, the Clark Gable figure works and the pilots work in the doorways, etc. For me, the beefier K&C figures will work just fine, I don't get too uppity on scale! Also, another thing on scale, I am used to seeing figures that are slightly larger than vehicles, so it may be that this plane is more 1/25 vs 1/30.

I am working on a few missing piece replacements, machine gunner, another pilot, step stairs for entry way and antenna top.

I can't complain, it was a very fortunate acquisition and it is apparently quite a rare piece. I couldn't care less about that part, I thought it was just plain cool!

It is a little large.................!

Thanks Howard, it was fun to "play" with tonight, but if you would have seen me carrying it vertical up the stairs from the basement, ouch. Should have photoed wife's face, that was more of a "priceless" pic!

That's a real beauty! Scale? It looks good by me and besides you're the one it has to please since you'll be looking at it 99% of the time. That's what I go by with my collection.

The JU52 is a unique looking plane and I've always liked it.

Thanks for sharing,

Carlos

Very nice, Tom. I have seen several of the wooden vehicles that are made in Germany, but nothing like the size of ol' Iron Annie there. That is one neat aircraft. -- Al

Where are you going to put that runway for this beast ?

Very Cool

Thats awesome Tom was that the one that was on ebay a couple of months back ?

Ya, it got pulled due to ebays idiot rules and I know the owner, who made me an offer I couldnt refuse.

With regard to the runway, I am figuring the outside sidewalk should handle this beast.

Like I said, watching my little guy wide eyed on this one made the purchase completely worthwhile. It is definitely an eye catcher.

Coming soon, my navy will be deployed featuring 2 Viking Raiders, A Cog, A Roman Ship, 2 Pirate Ships, Confederate Gunboat and various Landing Craft. I figure I will call it the Battle of All of Time........

Hi Tom. If that naval battle goes hand-to-hand, put 50 on the Vikings for me.:D -- Al

I don't have much, well nothing actually, to do with E-bay but, why did this aircraft cause problems? Though it seems it worked to your advantage its just mystifying

Hi Mitch, I believe the Tailwing photo gave Ebay grief! Basically, if you have a WW2 German item in miniature, you are not allowed to advertise it for sale to Germany and France.

Al,
My money is on the Vikings too! I think the Pirates will wuss out and the Romans will be too hungover or seasick. Of course, there is always My Johnny Rebs...................Still going with the Vikings!
