Cataloging Trophy Boxers (1 Viewer)

Hi Tommy and Mike

Are these the same?

wall.jpg

I found them at the last London Show. Apart from being available to buy as individual diorama pieces they were part of the "Defence of Rorke's Drift" original box set

Cheers

Martyn:)

Martyn,

Yes, that is them. My 1992 catalog shows DM53 and DM54 (if that is what these are) with an X code indicating good for any period. The only Diorama Material items listed for the Boxer Rebellion (B code) are as follows:

DM23 Stone Wall & Decorated Pillar - R. H.

DM24 Stone Wall & Decorated Pillar - L. H.

DM25 Gaste Section for above

DM59 Peking Gate Wall

DM60 Peking Gate Damaged Wall

Items DM23, 24, and 25 are shown as also being for the TC code, Town & Country.

Hi Mike

They're the ones. There were a few bits of Trophy diorama material available at the last Show, I'll have to see what, if any, is available in December

Cheers

Martyn:)

Larry,

Nobody, and I mean nobody, is better than you at tracking things down!:smile2: Your ability to find out of production sets from virtually any manufacturer is second to none. I appreciate the times you have used that talent on my behalf.:wink2:

Just a little bit info about the BR Gates sales happening recently ....

A week ago a eBay seller motherchucker sold BR Gate by BuyItNow! for $510 in 4 a.m EST (what would you expect from the guy with such handle ^&grin). It was snapped by one of eBay Trophy high rollers (obviously suffering from insomnia ^&grin), check it out eBay #380334916806

From other hand I was offered a similar set on Sunday's afternoon for $650! ^&grin

I think we should consider it to be a new Trophy BR Gates price trend {sm5}

Hawkeye,
Thanks for the kind words. With regard to BS28, I hunted for that set for a number of years and in the span of two weeks found two sets BS28 & BS28A. So, you never know! By the way, is the Red Lancer from the Napoleonic Series? If you have a catalogue number, let me know as I may stumble onto one in my search for other Trophy sets. Happy hunting!! All the best, Lawrence

Lawrence,

Those fusiliers-marins look to be mid-production versions. I've been searching for a set of them from that period, because they have a slightly more robust look than the early Boxer figures, but I haven't been successful. I kinda thought they didn't exist. Thanks for sharing and disclosing some figures I didn't know about.:salute::

This should be the figure. Catalogue said blue tunics but they are green except for the trumpeter. Hope this helps.

Dave,
Happy to share the knowledge. Like you, I had never seen photos of this set. I believe you are correct they are later production as the bases do not have the brick pattern and the figures look more robust. I hope to see you post some photos of your collection. All the best, Lawrence

That may be sooner than I expected. I'm working on a website for my store, and many of my vendors don't provide individual pictures of their items, so I'm going to have to get a small photography set-up with lighting and such for work this Summer.

As for bs 28, i just should have ordered it from mike but as it was it took a year to get all the items i ordered. She do love the trophy figures though
