Cataloging Trophy Boxers (2 Viewers)

Hey Mike,As we were able to use figures from other periods for the R.W.F sets no extra costs were involved. There were always plans to produce new sets ,but I recall the sales on the last couple of sets produced hardly covered the development costs,so future sets were put on hold.Best Wishes,Len

Dear Len,

That makes a lot of sense from a business perspective and I can't blame you. But the Italian and German sailors would have been great to have. Oh well, it is what it is.

I saw a set EQ47 Indian Artillery Gun Battery on eBay about a year ago purporting to be from the Boxer Rebellion line, but the the figures were in blue uniforms rather than in khaki uniforms. I was wondering if you made it or whether the seller was mistaken and it came with green bases from your other lines.

I have never seen your set BS18 Imperial Chinese 12 PDR Gun Battery. Were they wearing uniforms similar to the BS19 Dragoon Gun Battery? By the way, BS19 is the crown jewel in the Boxer Rebellion line, IMHO.

Best regards,

Hi Rererence your comment "they made thousands of them" in fact we never made thousands of anything. Our production target in the latter years was 1200 units a week,a unit was a foot figure a mounted one three, this figure excluded equipment ,boats etc.
When I first released the Boxer figures the sales were so poor I thought about dropping them then sales slowly picked up and more figures were made. The most fun we had was making the Dragon Gun ,quite a lot of the gun detail had to be imagination, but it turned out to be one of the best sellers, incidently we made a later gun crew for it.
Regards Len

Len,

Thank you for all your input. I do like the Dragon Gun:D

Thanks for sharing, Raymond.:)

Just magnificent, beautifully done. I have a line of four french napoleonic cannon but those dragon guns put mthem to shame

Thanks for the kind words. As for putting your cannons to shame, oh, I don't know about that. I am sure posting a photo of your French Napoleonic artillery would be a "blast" for all of us to enjoy:) I will guarantee you at least Capitol Ron will approve! Then we can get Martyn to jump into the fray with all his artillery sets:D

Two more boxes of early Boxer Rebellion singles:
1. Russians and Italians
2. Chinese

Here are a couple of photos of my Trophy Boxer Rebellion display. I have several other sets which are not on display due to space limitations. Note that I do not have any of the later sets which had the terrain bases; as a purist, I am sticking to the rectangular gray bases.

Hi Mike: Thanks for posting your great collection. Where did you secure the smaller end walls?

Tommy,

The smaller end walls are from Trophy's Diorama Material. I believe that they are either DM53 Long Section of Stone Wall-Resin or DM 54 Short Section of Stone Wall-Resin.

Mike: Thanks. I will recheck my old catalogues. I don't ever remember seeing those lower walls.

Hi Tommy and Mike

Are these the same?

I found them at the last London Show. Apart from being available to buy as individual diorama pieces they were part of the "Defence of Rorke's Drift" original box set

Cheers

Martyn:)
