Hi Guys,
Our good friend “Cornwallis” posted a set of excellent pix of his Rev. War set up that has to be one of the most inspired dioramas I’ve seen in a long time…. A great mix of lots of figures plus a skillful use of background 2-dimensional “flats” to bulk up the scene… masterfull and very well done!
So, it got me looking at some of my own collection and wondering how I could produce a little scene with a fair number of different figures – both current and “retired”. And this is what I came up with… “1914 Marching To War” – the scene shows Kaiser Bill together with some Generals and Crown Prince “Willi” observing a column of grey-clad infantry heading through Belgium.
In the background is a damaged little church which has rec’d a few random artillery shells. (I built the structure out of card and old cornflakes packets and other bits ‘n’ bobs). A few WW1 K&C vehicles surround the church including the Kaiser’s “Staffwagen” which has a table set under the attached awning for a simple buffet lunch… Elsewhere one of the German invaders attempts to comfort a local resident… Well that’s his story and he’s sticking to it!
All in all lots of fun playing with my toy soldiers… hope you like it.
All the best and…happy collecting!
Andy C.
