Very interesting and one of the least known battle of Normandy. Thanks for the link I watched it complete and enjoyed it. What a great victory it was for the Allies.

Agree, looking forward to the fourth elephant. I have been interested in Hannibal and the elephants crossing the alps since I was a little kid. Loved the Victor Mature movie back in the 60's. I need more romans now that I will have so many elephants in my diorama. Elephants were the heavy armor...
Jason, I loved this period and enjoyed your diorama. Thanks for sharing. My personal preference is to add casualties to my dioramas for more realism. I guess they are not big sellers but I wish more companies would add them to their different periods of conflict.

It is sad to hear about the only show in Texas is gone again. I guess the cost to run the show is not profitable. We really enjoyed the show and location in historic San Antonio. Will miss the gathering of like minded collectors of military history. If anyone wants to revive it I will surely...
Thank you Chris for this article but I think it raises more questions than answers. The plate describes it as an African elephant with ears painted red. But the general consensus is that these elephants were too small to carry a howdah with 3 men much less all the weight of the armor on the...
Chris,
Thank you for the info and pictures relating to the elephants ears painted red. Even though they do not relate to Hannibal or the Carthaginians it is some historical evidence that some armies may have painted their elephants ears red.Personally I have never heard or seen that before so...
I see that the JJD elephants that he is releasing has the inside of the ears painted red. Supposedly he believes that Hannibal painted the elephants ears red at Zama but I cannot find anything that agrees with that. Does anyone have any information on that or can shed some light on this...
These might be the best John Jenkins sculpts yet. I am curious about the material being used for the casting. If they are all metal or mixed media? Also price and date of release? Anybody have any details because I am very interested in these figures?

Hello Julie,
Any update on the Carthaginian army. I am very interested in this range specially the elephants. I know John likes to wet our appetite with the original sculpts but then sometimes they get shelved for a long period of time prior to release.
Thanks
Howard
Hello Carlos,
it was good to see you again at the show and thanks for posting all those photos. I can look back and see all the stuff I would have liked to buy but l just have to restrain myself because I can’t collect everything I would like to. Also It was good to meet “John from Texas” as he...
Hello Amber,
Thank you for your gracious reply. I was thinking that even if you had a small presence there where you could promote your new location and pass out your current brochures it would help the show. We all know that you are one of the heavy hitters in the hobby and it could bring more...
Hello Amber,
I was just wondering why you don’t buy a table at the Texas Toy Soldier Show and everyone can see your beautiful displays there among like minded customers. It seems like a small expense for a show in your own backyard. There must still be some bad blood between K&C and the Menger...
Wow, what a collection. I know it’s a problem to save the original boxes because they take up so much room but without them it makes it very hard to ship without damage. Good luck with your sale and I enjoyed your pics.
