That was old school smash mouth 70's style college football. Good to see two great teams go at it for 4 quarters. Huge win for SC. Hopefully they don't look past some of the weaker teams like they have done the past few years.
 
Ugh. An SC choke job today. That's college football though. :mad:
 
Poor Rick is going to be on a suicide watch . . . you should have seen him at last year's OTSN when USC choked. He was absolutely desolate.
 
Hi Fellows i watch college footy and i cant believe how HUGE it is.You get more people at a college game than we get at our Aussie rules games.Its hard to fathom here but you have the population etc our schooling system is different so most sport is played at a club out of schools on the weekend.Just a observation havent pick a team to follow yet i get lost sometimes checking out maps etc for locations of Colleges etc,but it makes for great viewing.
 
Now SC and OU, with one loss each, have virtually no shot at the BCS Championship unless other top ranked teams fall.

Better to lose early than late.

SC needs to get out of the PAC 10, two years in a row they lost on the road to an unranked team, the current system needs to be changed asap.

And the Gators keep rolling along; maybe they should petition to go to the NFL, they are better than several pro teams................

Thats funny, every time they show that flag planting it gets my blood boiling.


I'm calling the National title game now Boise State vs BYU, yup you heard it here 1st. Man o man we need a playoff system.
 
SEC looks real strong. Looks like (at this early stage) the only teams that can stop the Gators, Tide, or Ole Miss are going to be themselves. An all SEC championship? -- lancer

Bye bye BYU so far, unless they pull a miracle, the Noles are cooking.

How about the Terps, losing again to Middle Tn State, what a joke.

Oh and the Irish, I would be happy to escape today, I still think Charlie stinks and if I was a ND fan, I would be praying for losses so you could finally rid yourselves of the ilk!!!!

I think the Terps need to change the head coach and that stupid mascot. I went to UMd in the 70's and have always hated that mascot. A turtle, for cripes sake! Why not have a dead squirrel? It makes as much sense. Anyway, the ACC isn't much for football outside of VaTech and FSU. -- lancer
 
This season feels eerily like 2007 when a team couldnt survive in the top 10 for very long. So with that in mind, FSU has a shot at a title ;) or maybe not.

I agree it is time for Charlie to go. He has definetly run his course at ND. He has made to many bone head decisions that cost them to many games. As much as I want to see Charlie go I just can't root against these kids. They give Charlie everything game in and game out and then he turns around and decides to throw the ball down field instead of running the clock out and winning the game :( I hope the Michigan game is enough to get his ace out of town but I doubt it.
 
Weis seems to have a strange hold over ND fans. Anyone else would have been fired last year. They signed him to a long-term contract for mucho $'s after he narrowly lost to SC a few years ago. That's a big factor in keeping him. Whoever authorized that doesn't want to go down with the ship. Given the soft schedule and number of home games, ND could still win 10 games this season and maybe crack the BCS bowls.
 
Another one bites the dust. No. 4 Ole Miss went down ugly last night to unranked South Carolina. The path is-a clearin for the Noles
 
Good one Lewey: The first time in 42 years since LBJ was president did State win two years in a row over Michigan. Now, Michigan State better start making up those early losses with more wins. GO STATE.
 
SC and ND this weekend. Should be a good one. The ND defense looks soft which should be fatal against SC. Prediction SC 40 ND 17 - unless there is a blizzard.
