2017 Baseball Season: Let's Play Two! (1 Viewer)

The way the LET'S GO O'S!! are trending, Sammy is going to ask the pilot on his flight to Chicago if he can get out of the plane while it's flying over the hotel...............without a parachute.......................:wink2:

No doubt!! man it's gotten ugly quick, but there is hope, Sox come to Baltimore for 3 and as George knows the O's do love playing the Red Sox!! :):)

Thought the Nats would take a run at HFA by throwing our best at the Dodgers but evidently it is not a priority. The Nats are starting their #5 SP tonight (Gopher Ball Jackson), their #6 SP tomorrow, and only on Sunday do the Dodgers face one of our aces, Strasburg. Kind of disappointed as I had hoped Dusty would make a run at them. Who knows, maybe it will work out, but it looks like our best shot to win a game in this series will be behind Strasburg, and even then we have to hope the offense starts clicking as it's been sort of quiet the last 5 games. -- Al
Well, it hasn't taken that bum Jackson long to live up to his nickname, 2 innings into the game and Gopher Ball Jackson has given up 3 Hrs and trails 6-0. I hate Jackson. -- Al

If it's anything less than a sweep by the LET'S GO O'S!!, I'll be stunned.

Nope, I think my boys have packed it all in and are looking for October vacation plans already, again, a good run but that gas tank is bone dry and the fat lady is in her last chorus, time to play out the string and call it a day,.... as I've been saying since 1983{eek3}{eek3}{eek3}{eek3} maybe next year.

Hats off to the MLB. On their website you can look up the wildcard standings and find every team listed.

The Giants are only 23.5 back, with 14 games to play.

The MFY's steamrolled the LET'S GO O'S!! once again last night 8-2 (and someone needs to explain to me how they managed to close out the season with 14 of their last 17 at home................) while the Red Sox beat the Doofin Rays 13-6 in 15 innings, the game went to extras thanks to some nitwit named Klinkermeyer (I thought he sold toy soldiers here on the East Coast............;)...............inside joke there that whistled over all of your heads) not only making the catch of his life but then naturally hitting a home run in the bottom of the 14th, but it was all for nothing for the Klinkmyster........................

That was literally laugh out loud. You're going to be getting a nasty gram from K's wife.

Brad, I see the Angels are still hanging in, only 2 games back, perfectly doable with 15 to play. -- Al

O's are so frustrating. They basically killed themselves by not being able to win on the road. Heck, they have one of the three best home records in the AL, but the road record was horrible. Like day and night, Jekyll and Hyde. Even a mediocre .500 record on the road would have them in the WC with a cushion. Very frustrating. -- Al

Al, I didn't stay up for the game - too tired - but they had to win with the Twins losing. They need to get the deficit down to 1 by Monday. Their trouble, as we have discussed, is that their pitching is not very good.

Hmmm, pitching not very good? Where have I encountered that problem before? I can sympathize with that particular weakness.:wink2: -- Al

In the first four innings, Sciosia used four pitchers; he even started one of his closers.

Pitching is what separates the men from the boys.

I can just see it now "I don't find that funny at all Mr Warrior"...............like I give two ****s.................

Just learned an interesting tidbit from the O's talkshow, and that is that the NYY's Judge has 11 Hr's against the O's this season. This is the most Hr's by a NYY player against any team in a given season since 1961. In 1961, both Mantle and Maris each hit 11 against an opponent. Mantle hit his 11 against the Senators (naturally:rolleyes2:), but I can't remember who Maris hit his against. No wonder the NYY's are 11-6 against the O's so far. -- Al

Another asss whipp'n from the MFY as George puts it against my O's, JUST.LET.IT END. I can take losing series and such, but when you get your nuts handed to you night in and night out man it gets real old real quick, at least there is ONLY 1 game left in N.Y. this year.

The announcer during the game said Maris hit 13 in 1961 against the White Sox. -- Al

Yeah, and guess who starts for the O's...wait for it...uBADo! A 10 game road trip where the O's needed 6 or 7 wins, ends tomorrow with the O's having gone 1-8. What a disaster. Anyway, Buck did a heck of a job keeping this team competitive as long as he did, considering he had 1 effective SP most of the year. -- Al

It's difficult when it ends this way. At least Jason and I knew it was over early.

Well at least you still have your Angels Brad, but no matter how it all comes out in the end when your team doesn't make that run to the playoffs it is disappointing, just like this thread when you look back way into early March and Spring Ball we all had high hopes of greater things, and then at some point reality slaps us in the head (some sooner then others) that our team will reside on the couch this October, oh well, some good teams left and should be a interesting finish for a few teams, just not mine. :(
