2018 Baseball season (1 Viewer)

I usually zone the commentators out but whoever was doing the Dodger game yesterday noted how awful the infield "shift" is for the game. He also asked why the hitters didn't effectively end its use by bunting when there is no third baseman. Instead they are always swinging for the fence.

Bunting seems to be a lost art. It’s not taught that much in the minors, according to some.

The Commissioner is looking into ending the shift.

I am torn on the shift. When the Giants use it and it gets them an out I think it is a brilliant defensive strategy. When a team uses the shift against them it is clearly cheating. ^&grin

Kimbrel had no command tonight. Had the Yankees won, he might not have been available for game 5.

Had em all the way.

The bullpen outside of the closer came through tonight finally.

Yankees inability to get to the Red Sox bullpen in games 1 and 4 did them in.

Kimbrel, you suck.

Happy YED everyone, it's on to the Astors.

Oh and one final thing; for generations, the Red Sox lost games like that.

Now, we win games like that.

Congrats George, boys made it interesting though, please beat the Stros.....p.s. can't stand Kimbrel pitching stance, reminds of some type of weird spider that freezes when the lights are turned on.

Thanks Sammy; he pitched like a weird spider that freezes when the lights are turned on too...………….:wink2:

As stupid as it sounds, the pressure is off now, they won a series after being knocked out in the first round two years in a row.

It's going to be a fun ride regardless...……..

Give me a L.A. vs. Boston WS....if its Milwaukee, Houston I'll be watching the O's 2018 reruns to see if that really happened.

Got the series between the 2 best teams, and with no rooting interest I will wish both teams good luck and the same for Mike and George. Someone has to win and someone comes up short, but it will be a great series and one MLB has to be pleased with. Looking forward to Verlander vs Sale. -- Al

As I stated, I had the Yankees in 4.

The key to the series was their inability to get to the Red Sox bullpen in games 1 and 4; our starters outside of Price were nails.

And as furious as I was over the Stanton trade and how Jeter gifted him to the Yankees, he was 4-for-18 with 4 singles and 6 Ks and 0 RBIs in the series.

Good luck being stuck with him, he wilted under the spotlight.

Oh and one last thing; Bucky Dent threw out the first pitch las night?

Really, the Yankees had to go there?

Thankfully for Red Sox fans, there is an entire generation of them who have no clue who that boob is, he's been milking that home run for 40 years.

Going to enjoy this series, may the best team win.

Oh, ye of little faith ^&grin

I'm surprised Cora went with Kimbrel that long. I would have yanked him. The Yankees were very close to winning that game. The 8th inning almost came back to haunt the Red Sox.

Will never understand why the Braves traded away Kimbrel.
