I always look forward to the women's world cup. It so refreshing to watch soccer without all the ridiculous diving and pleading for calls that is rampant in the men's game. The women dive too, but it's very rare (aside from Brazil). I've watched most of the matches and have been giving my dvr quite a workout! I was sad to see France lose vs Germany, a game the French seemed on their way to winning. That game was worthy of a final but fifa set it up so that they would meet in the quarters, too soon in the tourney for my tastes. The brackets were very unbalanced.
Another reason I enjoy the women's game is that they're not only playing for their country and teammates but to expand the sport as well. They compete very, very hard.

I've watched some but I find the quality is not really there and the play tends to be ragged. No real ability to go up on the break. Still enjoyable. I thought France Colombia was a great match and England Canada had its moments.

Still, I prefer watching the Copa America which is taking place right now.

Having two sons who played soccer starting at age 4 and on thru HS, yes. One son still lives in the area and soccer, any game, is on when he visits. We watch the women as well as the men. Got to see Mia Hamm and Brandi Chastain when they played in Louisville yrs ago against the Brazilians. A real treat. It's like women's bball, different but still fun to watch. And of course the World Cup is a must. TVs were setup in the mall to watch when we lived in Germany. Chris

Did you catch France vs Germany? It was a match for the ages w/ a lot of quality on the break.

It is better than watching the men,s game YAWN YAWN Germany v USA should be a good game.

At least we get to wave the St.Georges cross a bit longer with the women's game! :)

Missed that. I see the U.S. has a tough one today. Can't see them beating Die Mannschaft.

Hi Guys,

Been a big fan of our Ladies team for a long time! During the last world cup run they came to Heidelberg and did a "practice" in front of the US Families who were stationed there. It was a real great time for may daughter who is also a footballer and she got to meet and speak to several of the players. So for that I am always going to be a fan!

I do agree that they have a tough match today but I watched the German v. France match and have to say that the German squad has a lot of issues. If not for the handball in the box the game was looking pretty good for the French squad. So I certainly hope our ladies can find the holes in the line and put the ball in the net!

GO USA!

The US defense has got 'em this far but will be severely tested today. Although not as technical on the ball as France, Germany is loaded w/ options and very dangerous going forward. I think the US will struggle to produce scoring chances today as they have throughout the tourney aside from the opener. I'm really looking forward to this one! I hope the US finds some joy out there, but I think the German machine overwhelms the Americans in the end. Should be a very good one whichever way it goes.

I agree, I thought France was the better team vs Germany and exposed their backline deficiencies. However, I don't know if we have the same ability to expose them on the flanks. We have speed out there with Rodriguez and Leroux, but Rodriquez is not on the same level as France's Thomas, and will Leroux even get a chance to spark the offense? The coach has sat her the last two games. If we are to win I believe Rapinoe & Press need to be big factors, Holiday must stop losing the ball in the midfield and Solo will need to shut out the Germans- tall task! It should be a heck of a battle of wills!

I'm watching since it is in Canada and surprisingly enjoying it . Actually got to attend the France-England group game in person. It was great match up to have in a bilingual city.

The first goal was a little questionable as I don't think the penalty was inside the box but the second was well done.

You betcha! I like women's sports as they're purer (e.g., cleaner) then men's. The Quarterfinals are like a continuation of WWII . . . USA, England, Germany, and Japan!

Well done USA!

I hope England wins tomorrow. I was impressed by Lucy Bronze in the win against Canada.

Super to see the win here I just wish the game was on a little earlier so we could watch live here in Poland.

Hoping to see England get in for what will be a very good final!

One of the worst WC losses in history. Brings to mind what happened to Andres Escobar in 1994. A very tough moment for the player as it was a very dangerous ball from Japan. A real shame is all I can say.

I want to win US :salute::

Did you see the Spain Korea match? Reminded me of the Spain Korea quarterfinal match in 2002. Spain should have won the game but the Referee blew it. That was a very good Spanish team with Raul and a ton of other great players.
