Fear not Yankee fans, the AARP kids Pettitte and Rivera got the win tonight, 4-2.

I'm really gonna miss Pettitte when he retires in 30 years.

And my favorite Yankee Gardner hit a 290 foot bomb to right, just watching him run around the bases annoys me.

Two out of three in da Bronx, I'll take it, on to Toronto for a weekend series played in front of their 27 rabid fans.

Yup, father time and Rip Van winkle come though in the clutch, Petitte just seems to be like mold that never goes away, oh well as you said George took 2 in N.Y. not a bad series for the Sox, will be interesting to see how the Jays/Sox play out this weekend...Sammy

Very true, he is like mold.

HGH is a wonderful thing, is it not?

And why is Rivera retiring, he's got one pitch, a cutter, as long as it's a foot near the strike zone, he gets the strike call, so why retire?

I'm still reserving judgement on Rivera. The couple of times I've seen him pitch this spring, he has been hit and given up runs. I'm waiting for a couple of his patented saves to come along before I'm convinced he's back and effective. I would like to see the Sox take out Toronto and all their big off-season signings/trades.:wink2: -- Al

When he announced he was retiring, he said he had nothing left in the tank.

I see the O's injury prone Brian Roberts is out again. Bad knee. 2-4 weeks for recovery. Blast. That poor guy can't stay well. -- Al

In my best Valley Girl accent...OMG! The O's Chris Davis just hit a GS to become only the 4th player in MLB history to hit Hr's in the first 4 games of the season. He now has 4 Hr's (1 GS, 2 3-run, and 1 2-run) and 16 rbi's. O's have scored 5 in the bottom of the 8th to take a 9-5 lead. Jeesh! This season is even better than last year (so far:wink2:). Being competitive and winning is so much more fun than losing.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Saw that one as well. "Ain't the beer cold"! :smile2: The Reds, our local team, had one also in their 16-0 rout of the Nationals. Didn't know D Johnson was the mgr for the Nats. Chris

Hi Chris. Davey has been the manager, but he has announced that this season is his last. He has done a fantastic job with the young Nats. Just got finished watching today's cliffhanger where the Reds almost pulled off a great come-from-behind win against the Nats. Almost.:wink2: -- Al

Reds should have saved some of those runs from the day before. :smile2: Chris

This is one of the great things about baseball's schedule. A team has a really bad day, such as the Nats losing 15-0, but redemption can be had within 24 hours. Lose by 15, win by 1, and on to the next game. Win or lose, there is always another game coming up, so not too much time can be wasted in self-flagellation or congratulation. Johnson has been especially good at keeping the Nats focused on the 'next' game. -- Al

I will never forgive him for pulling Mussina and losing the American League pennant for the Os. Perfect example of why "pitching by committee" isn't always the best decision. Chris

Well, thanks for dredging up that bad memory.{sm2}^&grin -- Al

I heard today that April 18th, the Yankees are offering a very special promotion for their home game on that date, it's "Seed giveaway day."

"Seed giveaway day?"

Come to the game, get a packet of seeds.

Wow, that's pretty special, considering at Home Depot a packet of seeds goes for about .28 cents.

I can see why your such a rabid Yankees fan there Louis; did they hire George Costanza back to dream up such four star award winners?

Another late inning loss for the orioles :( this is a bad trend starting early that really was the O'S bread and butter last year, hope things get straitened out quickly...sammy

All 3 losses by 1 run. Nothing really working in the series against the Twins. It'll all straighten out and will be remembered as nothing more than a hiccup on the way to the pennant. We do need better efforts than what Tillman and Arrieta gave their first time out. Tillman should be alright but Arrieta might be testing the patience of the club. Give them another 20-30 games to see if trends continue. -- Al

Hey george, look at the 1st place Sox. They just beat the O's with some outstanding pitching, 3-1. Good pitching on both sides. Neat game to watch, even if it did end up with the O's losing. -- Al

Had fun at the ballpark today, weather was outstanding, thanks to Miss Tiffany for getting four tickets, we had a great time, she looks great in a Red Sox hat.

We'll see how things shake out, it's been a fun week so far...................

Watched some of Cincinnati trounce my Cards today. Nothing like letting the other guys score 9 runs in the ninth inning.... Oh well, looks like the Reds are going to be real contenders this year. Between Bruce and Votto, those guys can score lots of runs real quick!
