Very successful Opening Day win for the Nats as Strasburg goes 7 shutout innings for the win, and Harper hits 2 Hr's to provide the 2-0 final score. 1 and 0 and 161 to go.:wink2:^&grin -- Al

Congrats to Al, Brad and George's teams as the Sox are killing the evil Yanks and are all opening day winners, hope my team can join the win column on Tuesday...Sammy

Thanks Sammy, Lester looked pretty good, top of the line up had 7 hits.

CC lost a ton of weight, have to give him that, was wondering where it all went, then the mystery was solved as Lou Pinella waddled onto the field to throw out the first pitch.

Wow.

He's gained 5 or 70 pounds...........{eek3}

Highlight of the day was the stache Joba is sporting; what in the name of God is that thing, nice cookie duster/70's adult film star stache you got going there Joba...........I thought the corporate Yankees don't allow facial hair, man does that thing have to go.

Tied for first! I know it's a teensy bit early, but I predict a Baltimore-Washinton Parkway World Series.:wink2:^&grin -- Al

I'll take some of that!!!:) watched the O's updates at work on my I-phone, being we're 3 hours ahead the game came on around 12: 30 or so here in Arizona, O's had me worried after going down 3-2, next thing I know my phone is blowing up with Oriole scoring updates!!! but your right Al, tis way early to put the Champaign on ice, but 1-0 is better then 0-1:)...Sammy

I just checked the scoreboard sure is alot of shutouts happening late in alot of the games, and looks like Boston is going to put another ashh whipping on the evil Yanks:)...Sammy

Yankee fans are already worried. If this score holds up, keep sharp objects away from them.

For sure, 6-0 Sox in the 4th!!! still early in the game but, at this rate Sox might score double digits...Sammy

What is it, 20 below zero tonight in New York? Most of the players are dressed like they're on the Russian Front, baseball players have zero tolerance for cold weather.......................

Meanwhile, in the NL, the Nats have started with 2 straight shutout wins. It only got down to 40 by the end of the game in DC, a hot-house by comparison to NY. -- Al

Worried a whopping two games into the season?

They've got four all stars out of their line up, I know they're Yankee fans and they expect to win 95 games every year, but this line up is pathetic, it's Robinson Cano and 8 tomato cans out there.

And I don't know what it is, but Brent Gardner annoys the @#$% out of me.

Well the corpse of Vernon Wells made it interesting with a 3 run bomb, but in the ninth, Tanner, Loopus and Englebert couldn't come through for the Yankees, who fell to 0-2.

2 down, 160 to go.

George you totally slay me with your color commentary{sm4}, ESPN should give you a job! Looking forward to more comments from George!
I hope that the Yankees with wake up and realize that the season started. Getting swept by the Bosox isnt going to do anything good for the fans other than give the sports writers some more fodder to play with.

Yankee fans, at least the recent vintage, have become used to winning divisions, 95 wins, etc. and generally winning easily. Fans have been wringing their hands this spring. However, this team is getting old and for awhile fans may have to adjust themselves to lower expectations. It's going to be a very competitive division with any team capable of winning.

I see the anxiety level on the radiowaves rising. The older fans have seen some of the lean days but the newer fans have never seen anything but winning. Those are the ones ready to jump off the George Washington Bridge.

Thanks Dave, I enjoy your PM's on the subject as well.

I really hope Yankees fans aren't upset over this, four of their best five players are out of the lineup, they'll be fine once they all come back.

And I don't think they'll get swept as the old war horse Andy Pettitte is towing the rubber today, the only pitcher in MLB who is collecting a paycheck from a ball club, has an AARP card and gets a social security check; they need to saw him in half and count the rings to see how old he really is.

The only issue is the AL East is pretty balanced, so they had better not fall too far behind the pack.

I see the Orioles not only lost a one run game, it was in extra innings as well.

I thought they had a deal with MLB that they are supposed to pull out all one run and/or extra inning games just like last year when the gas house gang Orioles roared their way to the playoffs.

Angelos had better sent an email to that boob Selig and get this fixed ASAP.

George, completely agree. O's need to get the 1-run, extra inning magic back on track, although expecting a year like last year is really stretching reality. Perhaps it won't matter as much if Chris Davis (O's 1st baseman) can hit a multi-run Hr every game, as he has so far.^&grin -- Al

When you take 2 out of 3 on the road, that's pretty darn good. You do that over the course of a season and you've had a great season.
