Baseball 2013 (2 Viewers)

I remember a few years ago he was with the Yankees (maybe 2011) and he had some initial success but nothing like he's having now and people were wondering how long he would last because as the season wore on he became less and less effective. He shut out the Angels yesterday on three hits. I have a hard time beleiving it was all natural talent.

Brad, Colon was with the NYY's in 2011 where he went 8-10. Was 10-9 with the A's last season and now he's on the way to 20 wins this year. It does kind of stretch credibility. :rolleyes2: -- Al

Well looks like the axe has fallen on Braun for the Brew crew, suspended for the rest of season, and this doesn't look like it is going to end well for A .Rod and the Yanks, my personal opinion..I'll be shocked if he A.Rod plays for the Yanks ever again...Sammy

Braun is one MLB really wanted to get after he beat the rap a couple of years ago.

He's an embarrassment to his people

The Dodgers are on fire. It's been a long time since they put together a run like this. First place after being something like 15 games under .500 at one point.

On fire indeed. They just swept my Nats, completely shutting down our rather anemic offense. And to think, there were calls to fire Donny Ballgame earlier this year.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Nats fired batting coach Eckstien.
Meanwhile Os get within 2 1/2. Tillman is 9-1 in last 10 games. :smile2: Chris

O's really putting together. They seem to finally have solidified the starting pitching with the return of Chen and the addition of Feldman. The O's had made due and stayed in the race with just 3 starters. O's now have 5 good starters in Tillman (12-3), Gonzalez (8-3), Chen (5-3), Hammel (7-6), and Feldman (2-1 since the trade to the O's). Looks like the O's are all lined up to make a run like last season. Looking good. -- Al

A golden opportunity for the O's to gain a game last nite with the Red Sox losing and they blow it by giving up 2 in the 8th to the Royals:mad:...KC is playing some good ball these last two nites but just hoping we can scratch out a win tonite which would be a 5-2 road swing which wouldn't be bad at all, come on O's need a win!!...Sammy

Multiple sources are claiming the Yankees and Cubs are close to a deal sending Soriano to the Yankees for some Yankee tomato can pitcher in the minors, a mid level prospect.

AND, the Cubs are eating most of the 25 million left on the contract.

Boy, Theo really is doing some great things in Chicago.

Soriano? Someone needs to tell the Yankees this is 2013, not 2003.

Maybe Superman can go back in time an erase the 2004 ALCS, World Series and the 2007 World Series wins by the Red Sox as well.................

That trade should push both team to the pennant.

Go White Sox:salute::

Unfortunately, The O's let the resurgent Jeremy Guthrie totally handcuff them for 6 innings and then couldn't get to the Royals bullpen. Well, at least the roadtrip is over and a nice, long homestand is next.:wink2: -- Al

Red Sox visit Baltimore for the weekend, used to be a time where Baltimore was Boston's home away from home with droves of Red Sox fans filling the park, but no more as those rabid, die hard, never quit on their team O's fans are now filling the park.

I'll take a pass this weekend, will check back in on Monday to hear about all the doubles Manni Muchacho hit, how many bombs Davis hits and how many Cadillac catches and flips back into the infield Jones makes, think I'll go to that insurance seminar I've been promising myself I'd attend one of these weekends instead.

Nice run the Red Sox went on the first half of the year, their ship is taking on water now, Buckholz has been on the shelf for about two months with an owie in his neck, slept on it wrong and hasn't pitched since early June; boy those MLB players are real warriors, tough as nails they are.

Looks like the Rays and Orioles will fill the two spots from the East, with the A's and Rangers from the West and the Tigers from the Central.

NFL training camp opened this week, time to turn the page.

Now George, it just so happens that the Sox are in 1st place. It is against the Code of the Fan, in fact, it is illegal, to concede the race while your team is in 1st place. I believe that it is a rule that a fan cannot give up on his team until they fall below .500 and/or lose 10 or more consecutive games in the last weeks of the pennant race. At any rate, the Sox are catching the O's reeling from the KC debacle. Should be an interesting series. -- Al

Come on Al, you know most of what I post is dripping with sarcasm.......:wink2:................the Orioles a very good team, this is going to be an interesting series.

Still trying to figure out how the Rays got back into the race; oh yeah, they played a string of tomato cans for about three weeks, that's how.

George, I knew you, of all people, would not give up on the Sox. ^&cool And you are right about the Rays. Came out of nowhere and are now a real concern. I have thrown the towel in on the Nats and will now be all-in on the O's. Play ball! -- Al

O's up 2-0 as Jones hits one to right and Cadillac's his way around the bases, blowing a bubble while touching third was a nice touch.

Awesome.

And the Rays are already up 5-0, Sox could find themselves out of first place by the end of the night.

After getting out of a first inning bases loaded jam, Tillman is mowing down the Red Sox...................

Mets scored 12 runs to Nats 2 in today's double header but only managed to split. Disappointing not to sweep, especially with Harvey pitching in the game they lost.

Brad:

You seem to follow the NL east pretty closely, do you think anyone can catch ATL?

Jason,

Theoretically, the Nats should be that team but they seem to be in a season long funk. They're actually closer to 4th than 1st and are tied with the Mets in the loss column (due to rainouts Mets have played four fewer games). So, no, I don't think anyone is catching the Braves. However, you don't know how Braves will do without Hudson so Nats still have a chance. Lot of baseball left.

Brad
