Shades of 2012. After winning in OT tonight, the O's are off to another good year in 1-run games, 9-3, and extra inning games, 4-0. Some magic in B-more, maybe?:wink2:^&grin -- Al
It appears that Tanaka is the real deal. -- Al
Sammy, I can't figure out what has happened to the O's power hitters. If it weren't for Cruz, the O's power numbers would be laughable. Even though Jones has hit a few Hr's of late, he only has 5, while Davis has only 2. I know he has been less than full-strength, but 2 Hr's? And what has happened to Hardy? Talk about a disappearing act. At least guys like Markakis, Schoop, Wieters, and Cruz have kept the O's in it. The O's pitching is what it is. Sometimes good, sometimes not so much. Have to say that the closer, Tommy Hunter, makes me nervous. 1,2,3, innings are not his specialty. Like the way Jimenez has been pitching this month. But someone other than Cruz has to start hitting for power, especially on the home field. Still, First place is better than last place, even if the difference in the AL East isn't all that great. -- Aland so is Detroit...Sammy
It appears that Tanaka is the real deal. -- Al
Very true. Could just be a flash in the pan but he looks good so far, unfortunately for the rest of the AL East. -- AlYou ain't kiddin but in all honesty we need to see how he does when he goes through the league the second time. Mets have never faced him before and won't see him again until next year, when his tendencies will be known.

I had the pleasure of being at the Red Sox game last night, a boy did Ortiz hit a couple bombs! Not sure I've seen a ball travel quite that far.
Grooving pitches when behind in the count is generally not a good idea.
Good thing I'm a Brewers fan, because the Twins can't pitch! Oh, and I am SO glad that they built an open air stadium in Minneapolis. Watching baseball in May in a winter coat, hat, and gloves: priceless!
Pete,
I should have watched that game instead of the Bruins...................I know it might be cold, but that looks like a very nice ballpark, it beats the heck out of the dome with that beanbag in right, what a horrible place to watch a game.
The Vikings are playing at the University of MN this year while their new stadium gets built, correct? Outdoors in December in MN should be interesting too; loved the old Vikings Stadium in Bloomington, talk about a home field advantage..............
Even if I were sitting on a block of ice it would beat the Dome. What a dreadful place for baseball. My favorite part was watching the guy drive the big vacuum cleaner around the outfield before the game. Vacuums and baseball - what a pair!
The Vikes do get to play outside for a couple years. Knowing Viking fans, they will wuss out and it'll be empty. Not sure we'll have much to watch on the field anyway!
Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and vacuums, that's what America is all about.
Two years then; wow, didn't realize it would take that long for the new stadium.
As a kid, the Vikings were my second favorite team outside of the Patriots, the purple people eaters of the 1970's; Allen and Page, Paul Kraus, Wally Hillgenburg, Tarkenton, Jim Marshall, Joe Kapp, they had some great, great teams................killed me that they never won a Super Bowl...........
Must have to shoehorn a lot of work into that one weekend then.............:wink2:You have to remember that the building season here in Minnesota consists of one warm weekend in July. The rest is too cold to go outside!
If I root for them, they have not won a championship:
Vikings
Brewers
Timberwolves
Northwestern Wildcats
I sure know how to pick 'em!
I wouldn't say flash because he's obviously good but he's making batters look silly right now and I don't know if he can keep that up after the book is out on him.
Could be a long wait, it's more of a monsoon than a rain storm, they're talking three days of this.............better get that ark ready...............
