Only in the 4th inning in Seattle but the Nats are beating up on King Felix. They lead 5-2 and have lit Felix up for 4 Hr's, the first time he has ever yielded 4 in a game in his career. Wish it was the 9th inning.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Os win and Yankees lose. We extend the lead to 7 games. :smile2: Chris
7 game lead with 29 to go ain't bad. Toronto is DOA at this point. My question for the opposition is why does Chris Davis keep getting pitches to hit? He is batting a horrendous .189, but has an outstanding 24 Hr's and a respectable 67 RBI's. No complaints from this O's fan but he shouldn't be seeing anything near the strike zone. -- Al

His 24 HRs would lead the Giants. Posey is the team leader with 18.

Nats now lead 7-2 in the 8th. King Felix left after 7 and the Nats greeted the bullpen with 2 more Hr's, making 6 for the game. Can't remember the last time the Nats hit 6 dingers in a game and this was the first time this year they had reached 5. Big power explosion in a park and against a pitching staff I would never have thought could happen for the Nats. We still need 6 more outs. -- Al

The Giants beat the Brewers last night and LA lost to San Diego. We are still in the fight for the West.

Posey is on fire, 500 BA in his last 8 games with 5 home runs, getting hot at the perfect time.

Peavy goes into the 8th with a no hitter last night until my favorite ex Oriole Reynolds breaks up the no no.

That guy annoys me on so many levels I've lost count.

Keep it rolling Giants, you and the Cardinals are my only hopes in the playoffs this year....................

The best team in baseball has opened up a 4 game lead on the third best team.

Get your RED out!

A's continue their post all-star break fade. They are only 19-21 since then and going in the wrong direction. I expect that the Angels will continue to pull away at this point. They were hot before the break and have continued to be. -- Al

The O's are pounding the ball, again. Currently in the 6th and crushing the Twins 11-2. The O's have added 3 more Hr's to their season total, which is now 176, well on pace to end up over 200, which would be the 3rd season in a row that they have gone over 200. The O's SS, Hardy, who had such a power outage early on, (he hit 0 Hr's through June 20, the first 72 games), has now hit 9 Hr's in the O's last 53 games, including a Grand Slam in today's game. -- Al

The A's simply can't hit right now.

Good thing they traded their clean up hitter for more pitching.

Having had the pleasure of watching him for a month, he is the real deal, that is for sure.

Him in left, Castillo in center and Craig/Victorino in right; me likey.

The Sox have also found themselves a nice catcher this year too, as well as a nice utility player in Brock Holt, plus their second baseman of the future in Betts.

Hey, they almost played 500 ball for August; baby steps.

Sign a couple of pitchers in the off season and they're right back in business for 2015; worst to first to worst to first has a nice ring to it................

I had mentioned previously that trading Cespedes looked like a bad move, not to mention the effect it may have had on the team. They've signed Adam Dunn to try to make up the difference. They have a month to fix things.

Angels are in serious need of a fifth starter, at least for one more month.

It was a bad move and has had a terrible effect on the team; he was their clean up hitter, word from Fenway is he loves playing with Michael's favorite Red Sox player, David Ortiz, plus they signed one of his countrymen in Castillo.

I think they are toast and Seattle is going to catch them and take the second wild card. The Royals are going to get the first one and the Tigers are going to win the Central.

I hope that's how it shakes out as this way, the Angels get the winner of the Mariners/Royals playoff and the Orioles get the Tigers.......................

It is O's Hysteria and I ain't Foolin.:wink2: -- Al

The Giants are getting it together at the right time. They even swept the Brewers.

So far this season my joy has been tempered by their steaks of losing but it looks like they might be the real deal.
