Al:

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope we see you and the Nats down the road in the playoffs.

-Jason
Thanks, Jason. If we can get to the series, if not a B/W series, I'd like to see a coast to coast one.:wink2: -- Al

Congratulations, Sammy. The O's have won the AL East crown and they earned this and deserve it. ^&grin:salute:: -- Al

Al/Sammy:

Let me echo that! It has been a long time coming, congrats to both of you, the city of Baltimore and the O's.

It is good to see them back in the playoffs, with a division crown no less.

Thanks Jason, appreciate your comments coming from a West Coast fan ;).... Maybe we"ll see each other in the big dance!!

And Al, it seems we have been posting and hoping for a Oriole title for a lonnnnnnggggg time, oh yea that's right we have!!! Good luck to the Nats and now I'm off to celebrate MY O-R-I-O-L-E-S American East Division title!!!!....Sammy

Great game thrown tonight by the Cub's (and ex-O's pitcher) Jake Arrieta, who threw a 1-hit shutout, with 13 K's, to beat Cinncy. Cinny's lone hit game in the 8th inning. It is the second no-hit attempt lost by Arrieta in the 8th inning this season. It was also the Cub's FIRST complete game of the season. A beautifully pitched game. -- Al

Al:

I just saw the highlights, that one hit was just out of reach of the outfielder. So close!

A Yankees fan congrats to the Orioles fans on this forum. My feud with " BUCK " :mad:ought not diminish my respect for the class and enthusiasm from the TS and Orioles fans here:salute::. I will still have to root against them, but never would I root against you all as nice folk..Have your moment, as I relished mine for a number of years..( not lately, though :( )Michael

Congratulations, Sammy and Al on winning. Now, get ready for the big boys ^&grin

The fat lady has been warming up offstage, but so far the Brewers won't let her come and sing. They rallied fora run in the 9th to tie it and one in the 12th to beat the Cards. Not quite dead yet...

Jason,
That outfielder gave it all up trying to get that ball. I only hope that the warning track was soft dirt.:wink2: Cable TV is a wonderful thing. I got to watch both the Nats and O's on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network's two channels and I watched the Cubs game on the Chicago station my system carries. I have to have 2 TV's set up for the O's and Nats, as being only a few miles apart, their game times are almost always identical. I'm sure I mentioned that I love to watch baseball.:rolleyes2:^&grin -- Al

I see Peavy came up big last night to keep the Giants barking at the heels of the Dodgers. And those 2 Central divisions sure have some interesting chases going on, as well. 12 games to go and the wildcards are all still dogfights with 3 teams in each league in contention (realistically) and that's not counting possible changes of position with 1st place teams in 3 races. Some good baseball still left to play. -- Al

Oh my aching head, the beer must have really been extra cold last night:) well it was worth it that's for sure, now time to relax for a few series and see who we will be playing, KC, Tigers,?? I think we match up well with any of those teams, looking forward to it...Sammy

Sammy, I wouldn't have said this 3 months ago, but I believe the O's starting pitching is in great shape for the playoffs. We have 5 basically interchangeable starters that can give the O's 5-6 good innings of ball, in every game, until the bullpen takes over, and the O's bullpen is one of the best in the business. I don't think there is another AL team with the pitching depth the O's have. As usual, the playoffs are carried by pitching, so I like the O's chances. -- Al

Brad:

Apologies on the late comment, but congrats to you to on the Angels clinching a playoff spot as well. I guess they made it look too easy.

Dodgers got killed, 16-2. This gives SF a chance to close to 2 back and gives the Nats a 2 game lead for the best record and HFA. I like it. -- Al

A little payback for the 17-0 drubbing they gave the Giants on Saturday night. Colorado must have missed one of their extra points on the TD's they scored.

Another one of the O's lesser known players, Steve Pearce, is having a huge year for the O's. Including his big game tonight, he now has 20 Hr's and 48 RBI's in just 97 games and less than 325 Ab's, to go with a .297 BA. Not bad for a player released and then resigned this spring. -- Al

Angels crushed the Mariners and became the first team to clinch a playoff spot. Congratulations Brad. ^&grin -- Al
There you go. Angels beat the Mariners, again, and this time get the AL West crown as a reward for their efforts. Bigger congratulations, Brad.:wink2:^&grin -- Al
