The playoffs should be great. Many of us on this thread have a team or two in the mix. I am hoping that the Giants win it all, but if they don't I hope the Angels, O's or Nats win it.

WC game between KC and Oakland has been everything a playoff game should be. Can't ask for better than a 1-run game in the 9th. -- Al

Great game. I'm glad not to be facing the As in the upcoming series.

Just got my ALCS tickets for Game 2. Let's hope the Angels oblige.

I don't think that either team can beat the Angels, but KC has waited to be back in the playoffs for a long time and they deserved the win.

I am sad for Oakland because of the their link to the Bay Area but happy for the Royals and their fans.

I thought the As had a shot to beat the Angels, which was why I was glad to see the Royals win. I thought that at some point the As would wake out of their slumber. Unfortunately for As fans, Billy Beane outsmarted himself.

Exhausted from the week long show and two day drive home from Chicago, I only made it to about the 6th inning last night with the A's up 7-3.

I find out this morning they lost 9-8.

What an epic gag job is all I can say about that.

Am curious to see where Lester lands in the off season; I'd say either Yankees or Cardinals.

All I can say about tonight is go Giants.................

Sports talk here in the Bay Area has Lester going to the Dodgers. I know it is only talk but the Dodgers have already discussed increasing their payroll which is already an insane $238 mil.

Only in the 7th inning, but I am going to make a bold prediction:rolleyes2:; It's SF at DC on Friday. 'They' are calling for rain. Hope 'they' are wrong. -- Al

Al:

It is the series/matchup that I have been hoping for and dreading all at the same time.

Predictions:

Angels over Royals
Orioles over Tigers
Nationals over SF
Dodgers over Cards

Same calls I would make. Would give baseball an East coast vs West coast CS in both leagues but also a shot a E vs W in the WS. The other WS possibilities would be an all-California series or my choice, the Baltimore/Washington corridor series. Gotta believe that the E v W series would be best for MLB, but my heart wants the B/W series. At any rate, the four series will be fun to watch and and whoever wins will have earned their way to the LCS for the pennants.^&grin -- Al

I'm wondering what's worse: losing the way the As did or the away the Pirates did. I'd opt for the former.

The A's loss was a nutpunch; they blew a 7-3 lead, only to take the lead in extra innings, then blew it again.

Lester, the guy they traded for, couldn't finish the job; speaking of jobs, I wonder if Beane will lose his now.

The Pirates were never in that game, the grand slam took the wind out of their sails, they never recovered.

Have to give that crowd credit; that was like the yard at Folsum State Prison, talk about a wild bunch, Steelers fans at a baseball game....................I'm sure they were tanked up on that turpentine they drink out there Steel City Beer, that stuff is good for stripping rust off of quarter panels from a 1967 Chevy...........adios Pirates.

CRUZ RULES! O's up 2-0 after 1 inning as CRUZ goes deep. Now that's the way to start the playoffs.^&grin -- Al.... Nevermind.

I was not surprised by the Giant's win. Then again, I would not have been surprised if the Pirates had won. That is the problem with a one game playoff.

A one game playoff is not really a playoff. One game playoffs are for the NFL. A league that is built on series should never have a one and done scenario. Best of three would better.

Then again since the Giants won I love the one game Wildcard. ^&grin

Game 1 masacree. O's - 1 , Cy Young winner - 0. One down, two to go. We ain't afraid of no Cy Young winners.:wink2: All kidding aside, the Tiger's bullpen didn't look too good. -- Al
