Crap. Now Anthony Rendon, the starting 3b, is down with an injury. No word on how serious but that makes 3 starters out. Don't like the way this is trending, even though all 3 should only be out a little while. All could be back by Opening Day (23 days). -- AlAnd so it starts. Sky high expectations for the Nats, so naturally the injury bug is now biting them in the butt. Now both Werth and Span are on the DL, two of the 3 starting outfielders, and in the case of Span, the leadoff hitter. I see a bad moon rising... -- Al
I might be exhibiting a lack of humor but I agree with Madden. It is too tough to get to the majors, with little enough time to prove oneself, for a player to lose time to this type of egocentric publicity stunt. The owners never should have allowed it. -- AlJohn Madden ripped Ferrell's stunt, http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on...s-will-ferrells-cactus-league-stunt-i-hate-it
Unbelievable. Now Drew Storen, the Nats projected closer, is out with surgery on his non-throwing hand. Supposed to be ok for Opening Day. "Get it all out of the way before Opening Day" is my new mantra.:rolleyes2: -- AlCrap. Now Anthony Rendon, the starting 3b, is down with an injury. Will Ferrell -- yes, the actor -- played for 10 different teams yesterday in the Cactus League. See http://m.mlb.com/news/article/112527582/10-best-moments-from-will-ferrells-10-team-extravaganza
Amazing what you can do when you're a celebrity.
Starting to get a little annoyed with my Orioles , I know it's just Spring ball and a lot of young players are in and out of lineups but 3-11?? one of the worst records in Spring ball?? come on O's don't start a trend that will linger into April...Sammy
That's too bad, but becoming par for the course in baseball. Two of the Nats best pitchers, Zimmermann and Strasburg, have had it and seem to be just as good as before. TJ surgery has reached epidemic proportions. -- AlZach Wheeler is done for the year: Tommy John surgery. The list of pitchers facing this is growing this spring.
Leo Mazzone, pitching coach for the Braves and Orioles, was on the radio yesterday in NY ripping how pitchers are treated these days: they shouldn't be coddles and they should be throwing more. Whatever is being done with pitchers these days isn't working and needs to change.

On the other hand, Jimenez didn't look awful today, giving up a couple of runs over 4 innings and getting his first win of the spring. -- AlOriole's pitcher Bud Norris got pounded again today. Has not looked good this spring. He was a 15 game winner last year, an anchor of their staff, (and the 2nd highest paid pitcher on the staff), so here's hoping he gets it together in the next couple of weeks.:rolleyes2: -- Al
