Baseball 2015 (4 Viewers)

On the other hand, Jimenez didn't look awful today, giving up a couple of runs over 4 innings and getting his first win of the spring. -- Al
Jimenez had an excellent outing yesterday, his best of the spring. Best thing is he seems to have found the plate over his last few starts and isn't walking every other batter. Looks to be a viable starter at this point. -- Al

Odds are in for winning the WS; Nationals are first, Dodgers second, Red Sox are third at 10-1, highest odds of any AL team.

Seriously?

They have basically five #5 starters, one of whom is starting the season on the 15 day DL, as is their closer, plus their starting catcher is out for the year having had TJ surgery earlier in the week.

Sorry, I don't see it.

I don't even see them winning the AL East, nevermind the WS.

Season starts Monday; today in Boston it was a brisk 50 degrees, temps will be in the 40's next week.

George:

The Giants were 22-1 last year. I could see Boston winning this year at 10-1.

We'll see how things shake out, I think in the AL Toronto, Detroit and Seattle are better.

The Mets are finishing up a stellar spring, with the best record in the NL, with Harvey and deGrom lights out. Let's see how that translates when the games count.

My picks are as follows;

Rays, Tigers, Mariners win the AL divisions, Indians and Angels win the wildcards.
Nationals, Cardinals, Dodgers win the NL divisions, Padres and Pirates win the wildcards.

WS is Mariners vs Nationals, Mariners winning it all.

It's Seattle's year; Mariners win their first WS, Seahawks win back to back Super Bowls............oh wait............

This is the year we reverse the old saying about Washington, "first in war, in peace and last in he American League." Of course, they're in the NL now but now it will be all firsts :smile2:

I will go with:

The Nationals v. The Dodgers in the NLCS

The Tigers v. The A's in the ALCS

The Tigers v. The Nationals in the World Series

The Nationals win it all

Good grief, the Braves just traded Kimbrel to the Padres, along with the remaining Upton. Fans have pretty much written off the season already. The entire outfield is gone, catcher and now star reliever. Wow.

In case you hadn't heard, Braves are building a huge new stadium complex just north of the city of Atlanta. Somewhat controversial. The theory is they are sacrificing the now for the future, specifically 2017 when the new SunTrust Park opens.

Hope it works out. Pretty big gamble. New stadium should be fantastic, but traffic will probably be nightmarish. I work very near where the stadium is being built.

Cubs are off to a flying start; lost 3-0, left 945 runners on base, Lester got cuffed around and the bleachers won't be ready till June.

Not to mention people were waiting up to 30 minutes in line to go to the bathroom, some resorted to cups and others just did their business in stairwells and stadium corners.

The Cubs charge the third highest ticket prices in MLB, parking is an absolute nightmare and whoever the clown is who failed to have the renovations done in time for opening day should be shown the door.

Lester said after the game "It was a thrilling experience being out on that mound in front of these fans."

Awesome, have fun this year Lester.

The crowd shots of Cubs fans faces says it all; they've got the same look on their faces that the French army did in 1940.

Instead of waving a white flag to signal surrender, you should just wave a Cubs banner instead.

1908; 107 years and counting...................

A good start for the O's and Red Sox, Jays, not as much for the evil Yanks and Rays, as the ol saying goes "better to be 1-0 then 0-1" :)...Sammy

Matt Cain is already on the DL. The Giants did win the World Series without him last year, but I would still rather have him in the rotation.

Matt Harvey looked pretty good today, first start since Tommy John surgery.

Great piece on him on ESPN's E60 series; he's an easy person to root for, New York has been a bit harsh on the kid, just let him do his thing and he'll be fine........................

Mets are off to a good start, especially against a team that has easily handled them the last few years. Had they managed to win a couple of those games last year they might have had a winning record.

However, had it not been for Ian Desmond, they might have lost both those games; he hasn't been stellar in the field so far.

Red Sox took two of three from the Phillies, might have been a sweep had they not been playing in a monsoon Wednesday day; Ramirez hit a rocket with the bases loaded that died in the wind, on any other day it would have been a home run.

The Phillies look bad, as in really, bad, as in 100 plus losses bad.

Wow.

What a marathon in Da Bronx last night, Red Sox/MFY's; Sox up 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth, two outs and up steps Lamar Hedley, Mujica pitches him away, away, away, away, 90 MPH meatball dead center of the plate, home run, tie game.

Unbelievable.

Sterlings call on that one must have been an award winner.

On to extra innings.

Top of the 14th, Ortiz (Michael's favorite Red Sox player) hits a bomb, Sox up 4-3.

Bottom of the 14th, Horseface (My favorite Yankee) hits a bomb, MFY's tie it up 4-4.

Sox take the lead again, 97 year old Carlos Beltran hits a double and ties it again.

Sox go ahead again and win it 6-5.

Seven and a half hour game.

And they play a day game today.

The MFY's lose, TTTTTTTTHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEE MFY's LOSE!!!!

Always disturbing when the delinquents and deviates from beantown win.....................

After a year of running ahead of the pack, only to collapse at the end, the Brewers are kind enough to collapse right out of the gate, saving me a season of worry and anxiety.

0-4...at home...against the powerhouse Rockies and Pirates.

Stick a fork in it...
