Don't forget Cole. He's having a very good year, 14 wins, 2.49 ERA, low WHIP, etc.
Sure is. I just grabbed the first 4 on the list in terms of ERA, plus Cole's WAR is quite a bit lower than either Greinke or Arrieta. -- Al

The hits just keep on coming! This inning was started by Torres the pitcher who got a hit. This was an inning after he stopped a ball with his left foot, which bounced it to Mutph who threw it to Torres for your 1-3-1 putout.

An Amazin' road trip: 8-1, 7 game win streak, they picked up 2 games in the standings and just wailed that baseball.

Murph!

Too bad Rollins or Utlley are no longer on the team, I'd like to beat their you know what.

Caught part of last night's game on MLB network, they had the Mets feed with Darling and I assume Gary Thorn, or at least a guy who sounds a lot like him.

On a bunt with a runner on first, the Mets pitcher fired to second, got the lead runner and then the throw beat the runner to first, double play.

Then Darling proceeded to talk about how on a bunt, if the catcher thinks the pitcher can get the lead runner, he yells "Two, Two, Two" meaning throw to second. He said you wouldn't want to yell "Second, second, second" and Gary? asked why not and Ron proceeded to explain how it's hard to understand "second" vs "two" and then he said it's similar to football when there is a fumble they yell "ball, ball, ball" instead of "fumble, fumble, fumble"............?

Does he have a history of concussions or something?..............{eek3}

Like with many things involving ballplayers, of all sorts, it is best to keep it simple. One syllable words as opposed to multiple syllables.:rolleyes2: By the time the second syllable comes out, the base is stolen or the fumble recovered. :wink2: -- Al

Again, them's fighting words. Gary Cohen and Ron Darling are two of the best in the business. No better analyst than Ronnie.

This weekend the Red Sox are in town for their first visit to Citi Field.

Tomorrow is 1986 World Series Champions Bobblehead Day. Your truly will be going.

Awesome, glad they're doing it with the Red Sox in town to rub more salt into that wound.

Classy.

Grab me one of those would you Brad so I can tape a stick of dynamite to it, light it and blow it into 5,348 pieces.

The Patriots are playing the Giants this year in New Jersey; is it going to be 2008/2012 Super Bowl Champions bobblehead day with a Eli Manning bobble head given out with a stupid look on his face like "Holy ****, he caught that ball?!?!?!?!?!?!"

They should bring Tyree and Manningham in for the event as well, it will be easy to find them; pretty sure they both work at the same car wash these days.............................

I'm picking up two George. Shall I send you one? ^&grin

The place is supposed to be sold out. These bobblehead giveaways are very popular, not to mention the Mets are doing well and the Red Sox are a popular team.

Traffic is supposed to be a zoo, what with the tennis starting.

In all seriousness (and if any of you think I take sports seriously, you're barking up the wrong tree, it's the toybox of life), have a good time at the game.

The Red Sox have been playing well as of late now that they are officially out of it; that said, anything short of a Mets sweep would be stunning to me............

I was talking to one of the Bobblehead experts on a Facebook group I belong to and he said this may be the most popular bobble the Mets have ever given out.

I would be shocked at a sweep. 2 out of 3 yes, but not a sweep. They're very difficult at home.

By sweep, I meant the Mets should sweep the Red Sox................

Oh, I don't see that. Just watching the first two innings, they look like they have some good players and I'm sure Dombrowski will make some good moves. Henry Owens looks pretty good to me.

This team will not go far without a reliable 7th inning guy. Verrett seemed like he was going to grab that job but doesn't seem like it. That's what separates teams like the Pirates and Cardinals.

It looks like Swihart, the catcher, had a HR both the hard way and the easy way. However, it was a little disturbing to see Lagares give up on it and even worse to see Cespedes do nothing. Not a great game all around for the Mets.

Brad,
It looked to me like that ball hit the black wall behind the padded wall; did you see how far that ball came back after it hit the wall? What a high wire act that last inning was, our bullpen is just a total dumpster fire. Taz hurt his back on the double play, we have no closer now as he was filling in for our actual closer........................though for sure they were going to blow this game, shades of game 6 in the 1986 WS for sure.........................
