Murph makes some bonehead moves on the bases sometime but thst was a great move. Makes up for a lot of those bad moves. He and Granderson are the only ones consistently producing in this series.

deGrom isn't his sharpest but he is battling and not letting the Dodgers score. We have a 4 inning winner-take-all game on our hands. -- Al

The Dodgers are going to rue not putting this game away in innings 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Tomorrow could be the last game for Cespedes (he won't be resigned whenever the season ends), Bartolo Colon, Bobby Parnell and Daniel Murphy in a Mets uniform.

Murph has been a lifelong Met who has been a great clutch hitter but not the best fielder (although he's made himself into a competent Second Baseman and played well at 1B and 3B). He's a hardworking guy and the guy you want up there when you need that hit. The Mets may miss him but they have players waiting in the wings. He rarely strikes out and many will miss him, myself included. Thanks Murph.

Brad, your man Murph is doing everything he can to drag the Mets to the finals. He is putting a shine on his legacy. ^&cool -- Al

Murph is going to get a lot of good offer$ ^&grin

His solo homer just now has put the Mets one step closer to the league championship.

Mets win! Congratulations, Brad. Your boys have their chance for the WS well in hand. Got to have the advantage over the Cubs because of the starting pitching. Should be a good NLCS. Go Mets! ^&grin -- Al

Ok, I predict the winner of the WS will wear a blue cap.

I can't be more specific than that right now.

Cubs/Mets; great, Maddon vs 1986. I'll take the lesser of two evils and root for the Mets, which is like rooting for the Russians on the Eastern Front in WWII.

The Cubs steamrolled the Mets this year, 7-0, plus they finished 7 games better in the standings, yet the Mets get HFA.

Someone other than Murphy needs to hit, they did nothing tonight outside of him.

Dodgers left 16 RISP, what a train wreck.

Their payroll is 200 million and their bench is the 2003 all star team; Crawford and Rollins are your best options off the bench? And someone needs to explain to me what happened to Puig, he was useless the entire series.

Loved the crowd shots at that bar in New York; 97 pizza delivery guys and 42 hair dressers are going to work tomorrow all banged up................this is going to be a YUUGE series according to the cawlers at WFAN.....................

I loved Terry hugging Mattingly and Terry hi fiveing the Mets fans.

Without Murphy they lose. The offense was horrible. Reminds me of the Mets in June, July when if they scored three runs it was a lot and the pitchers had to battle every inning. Of course, they were facing two of the best. The Cubs are not that deep pitching but they can hit.

Dodgers had plenty of chances but their offense is just not that good.

Put it in the books!

A great win!!!

Bring on the Cubbies.

Congrats, Brad. The Mets remind me of Torre's early Yankee teams. Great clutch pitching and a fire in their belly to make things happen. In those days, my teams had legit " heroes ", who you knew were going to come through when needed. ( something sorely missing these past few years ). The Mets have shown that to get here. I do like underdogs, though and kinda was rooting for the Cubs. I make no promise of support going forward.:redface2: Will have to think on it. Michael

Al, George, Michael and anyone else {sm3}

Thanks! Besides myself this morning.

Michael, I think the Mets are the underdog because of their 0-7 record but the Mets have the extra home game as well as the better pitching.

I assume everyone knows about the curse of the goat. Eons ago, the Cubs wouldn't let some guy bring in his goat into the stadium (not sure it was Wrigley) and he got ticked off and put a curse on the Cubs, which they still haven't shaken. Do you know the name of the goat? Yup, you guessed it? Murphy!
