I don't watch a lot of baseball...but that was one crazy 7th inning...
Thanks George, Yes, it should be great. All hands on deck, etc. Teams are even. Even Kershaw said that he thought the pitching matchup was even. The Cubs got to be loving this, watching these teams shred their pitching.
This is just starting to get publicity but after game 1, a Mets fan was beaten up by some whacko and her son; the police are looking for them. What the heck is going on in California with these fans getting out of hand. People are getting too wrapped up on this.
My goodness, I don't recall a team falling to pieces like Texas did in the 7th inning. 3 consecutive errors on routine plays, what a choke job. I don't see how Texas can recover even though they still have 6 outs. Plus, they almost got out of it with 1 run allowed and then the gopher ball struck. What a terrible inning for Texas. -- Al
Sounds like the rags in NY are trying to stir up some more false indignation now that the slide controversy is over. Have they cleared Bruce Jenner in this incident? I read that a Dodgers fan was eaten by Colon after game four and the Dodgers have vowed to win at costs to avenge him. Larry King was quoted as saying this will be settled on the field before retreating back into his oxygen tent.
It is going to be a long off-season for Texas. It's one thing to get beaten by a better team or after giving all you have, but to lose like they did, literally throwing it away by failing to execute basic baseball plays... {sm2} -- AlWhat an epic, total, incredible gag job. They gave Toronto 42 outs in that inning.
Those Toronto fans are all class, pelting the field and fellow fans with beer cans and other debris.
Too bad the Nationals didn't make the playoffs, they could wear Expo throw back uniforms and all of Canada would be behind both teams.
Always love the crowd shots in Toronto; they remind me of the scene from "Is Paris Burning?" when the Germans march past the Arc De Triumph......................

Cueto comes through and it's an all-blue ALCS, just as it will be in the NLCS, just a matter of Dodger or Mets blue vs Cubs blue. Blue, blue, blue, blue, or blue. Take your choice. Greinke v deGrom is gonna be a goody. Congrats to KC, Toronto, Chicago, and... :wink2: -- Al
I hope it's not their last game. I'd like to see them at least get a go at the Cubs. I think deGrom has it in him, but it won't be easy. All those guys could have another 15 games in them.:wink2: -- AlTomorrow could be the last game for Cespedes (he won't be resigned whenever the season ends), Bartolo Colon, Bobby Parnell and Daniel Murphy in a Mets uniform.
Murph has been a lifelong Met who has been a great clutch hitter but not the best fielder (although he's made himself into a competent Second Baseman and played well at 1B and 3B). He's a hardworking guy and the guy you want up there when you need that hit. The Mets may miss him but they have players waiting in the wings. He rarely strikes out and many will miss him, myself included. Thanks Murph.

He can opt but that doesn't mean he won't come back. After a season like he's had, you can't blame him for getting as much as he can.

At his age, I don't think the Dodgers are going to match what other teams will offer. But you never know. It's hard to let a pitcher of his quality go at this point in his career and teams often end up overpaying players for what they have done in the past rather than what they are going to be capable of down the road. Big mistake. Better to part ways than have a guy on the payroll who is grossly overcompensated for several years in the future. That happens a lot with GMs who are afraid to let star players go at the right time. Tough call.
You're right George. Imagine Toronto fans acting like Americans. How rude {eek3}^&grin
Terry
Terry,
I've watched literally thousands of baseball games and I saw what I saw yesterday one other time; 2004 in game 6 of the ALCS when the umpires ruled ARod was out as he knocked the ball out of a players hand illegally.
Yankees fans bombarded the field with bottles, they had to stop the game momentarily.
Maybe you die hard baseball fans up in Toronto should read a baseball rule book; Martin threw the ball back to the pitcher, it hit the batters bat in the box, so it's a live ball.
Hey, you won the game anyway, which is great news for all those die hard fans up there as now they don't have to return the Blue Jays jerseys and hats they bought earlier this week.
Good luck with the Royals...............you'll need it.
