The Mets have beaten the best the Cubs have to offer, Lester and Arietta; unless the Mets have a meltdown, they're a shoe in for a trip to the World Series DeGrom goes tomorrow night, good luck with that Cubs.

The Mets are moving on, I can say that as a cocky Patriots fan...................:rolleyes2:

I'm not prepared to say that. The pitching matchup favors the Mets but never count your chickens until they're hatched.

Toronto had their chance. Now down 2-0, but at least they go home to regroup. -- Al
Toronto comes up big and gets back into the series. Cueto goes bust again. KC may regret letting Toronto up off the carpet. -- Al

Yeah; nice to see an old fashioned pitchers duel in the ALCS.

Great analysis by ARoid in the post game studio; "I think the Jays bats will remain hot during this home stand"............Home stand?

Guess all the juice he took over the years has pickled his brain.

Him and Pete Rose in the studio? Why not dig up Shoeless Joe Jackson and go for the trifecta..............

Thats it, put a whammy on the kids. What made you think I was referring to you? OH YEAH, you are the only cocky Patriot's fan that I know.....................and actually like..:rolleyes2:Michael

The matchup would appear to favor the Mets but lost among the hoopla is that in game 1 the Dodgers had plenty of opportunities until deGrom got better in the 5th. Similarly, in game 5, the Dodgers had many opportunities and could have blown the game open. The Cubs are a much better hitting team and if we see that deGrom again, it could be a long evening.

He has not had good success against the Cubs: his ERA is 6.75 {eek3}

Toronto is all but dead in this series. Their bullpen really folded under the pressure today, turning a 3-run deficit into a 10 run deficit. A fine job.:rolleyes2: -- Al

You just can't keep losing leads or home games and expect to win. I see they're bringing in a non pitcher to pitch. At this time of the year, that's embarrassing.

I'm a bit surprised that Toronto finds itself on the short end. I didn't think KC could beat them seeing as how Toronto scored so many runs and had the better starting staff. That's why they play the games. -- Al

I'd like to say the Mets got screwed on the Flores hit but I've seen that call made before by the umps.

The common sense call would have been to allow Conforto to score but with the umps you're asking for too much.

That's 2 runs the Mets have lost tonight, counting Grandy being thrown out at 3rd base in the 1st inning. Hope it doesn't matter. -- Al

The 8th inning and the Mets aren't protecting the lines? But Clip comes through. -- Al

There you go. Mets lead 3-0, pitching wins out. Cubs are dead. -- Al

Not quite ready to say that. The Mets refused to answer any questions about the WS, saying to a man that the only thing they're thinking about is today's game. Murph said that today is a must win game. One pitch, one batter, one inning at a time.

Looks like Cespedes may be coming alive and Wright too {sm3}

congrats Brad...

enjoy it!

Thanks Mike. It's been an incredible ride, a real fun season so far, a season beyond any one's wildest dreams.

Maybe the NL East wasn't such a weak sister after all.:wink2:^&grin -- Al

You live by the home run, you die by it; time after time in the playoffs, great pitching will shut down great hitting.

Not to mention the Cubs defense is just awful, they had what, four errors last night, just brutal.

Their outfield is a complete train wreck with that lummox in left and the butcher in right.

If the Mets dont' close it out tonight, I cannot see a scenario where the Cubs win three strait off of Harvey, whathisname and DeGrom, it would take a Festivus miracle for the Cubs to advance at this point...............
