Baseball 2016 (1 Viewer)

At least you got your Pats, my Ravens can't beat a soft Redskin team {eek3} and today I'm putting up my Fall/Halloween decor with temps in the mid 90's :mad: wish I had some cool temps!!

Thanks for cheering me up; one door closes, another one opens, time to turn the page and move on to NFL full time....................

Both the Jays and Cleveland have good starting rotations (I think Toronto has the edge) and good bullpens (I think Cleveland has the edge) The difference is in the hitting. Toronto has a home run team while Cleveland has a running team. Remember the Bill James analysis of home run teams vs running teams. The key to the series is whether the Jays can hit a bunch of homers. If they do, they will beat Cleveland by a bunch. If the Jays just strike out a lot, Cleveland will win the series on close scoring games.

Utley strikes again! As much as I can't stand him, I'd like to have him on my team.

Well, back to DC. I hope Scherzer is sharper this time around than he was last Friday. -- Al

Cleveland is as close to a NL team as you can get in the AL. In game 1, they scored the winning run when their catcher walked, tagged up on a fly ball to left to take second and scored on a base hit, in game 3, they had runners on 1st and 2nd no outs and bunted them over to 2nd and 3rd, both scored on a base hit, ballgame, series.

They scratch out a couple of runs, yank the starter, put Miller out there who's basically unhittable for two innings, then bring the closer in for a four or five out save.

Mix in a home run here or there and they move on and the Red Sox go home.

If Toronto keeps raking, they will demolish the Indians; if like you said they strike out a **** ton, they're toast. They have too many big bats with EE, Joey Bats, Pillar, Tulo, Martin, Donaldson, they remind me of the 1988-1990 A's and yes, they only won one WS, but they went to three strait and had a murders row of a line up.

We'll see how it shakes out.....................

If you think about it, the Indians are the new version of the KC Royals, scratch up a run here and there, get decent starting pitching then get to the lights out relievers, it worked for them for 1 World Series win, hate to say it...let's go Nats or Giants!!!! can't stand the Jays and I'm not pulling for the Indians so I'm all in for the NL...Sammy

Giants laying the wood to the Cubs 5-2; Maddon the genius yanks Lackey after 74 pitches and the bullpen implodes, single, double, single, sac fly, two runs, brilliant move Joe.....................

Moore has pitched a hell of a game.

If Cubs go back to Chicago tied, you're going to see a city exhibiting all of their losing neuroses versus one that is difficult to beat in elimination games. Should be quite a game.

Giants are cruising, three outs away from forcing a game 5.

The Cubs have two runs on two hits; one on a home run from the tomato can known as Ross, the second on a three base booted throw error and a sac fly from hall of famer Ross.

Matt Moore has been lights out, shutting down the Cubs offense.

Gillespie, the hero from last night, is having a night, 4-4.

The Giants are unreal; seems like when they go on a post season run, they hitch their wagon to a little known guy and ride him for as long as they can.

If this score holds up, regardless as to how Thursday turns out, Hell of an effort by the Giants, they didn't roll over and die, they fought their ***** off....................................Bochy is a spectacular manager, Righetti is a great pitching coach and their front office is nails.

Good lord, another SF bullpen meltdown. Arrrgh! What an absolute shame. 3 outs from a game 5 and the King Kong of bullpen implosions occurs. Fire 'em all. -- Al

Well, as has been their practice lately, the bullpen has crashed and burned. It's their Achilles heel. They don't have an effective stopper like other teams. They better hope that they can keep it at 5-5.

Last night the Red Sox, tonight the Giants..................I give up on baseball.........................this is incredible.

What a dumpster fire of a bullpen.

All doubt has been removed; it's the Cubs year.

A tough pill to take but when you have a lousy bullpen that's what's going to happen.

Jason, go have a few drinks Brother.
