Baseball 2016 (2 Viewers)

Aside from their home opener, where they scored 7 runs, the offensive troubles that bedeviled the Mets in ST is continuing in the regular season.

And then there was 1..only one team left undefeated, Orioles!!!! ^&grin at this point I'll take anything I can get, I'm just glad we're not 0-4, if the O's can just keep this pace up for the next say 20 or so weeks will be right there in the end :)...Sammy

All and all I am happy with the Giants' start. The hitting has been better than expected and the new rotation seems solid.

Although it is very early, it is pretty clear that the NL West will be a battle between the Giants and Dodgers.

Yeah, that was a fun day at the ballpark for me and Miss Tiffany.............:rolleyes2:............@#$#ing Orioles, not to mention the three ******* Orioles fans sitting in our section, whooping it up all game long, who game blame them with all the championships the LET'S GO O'S!! have won recently.

Dial it down a couple of notches.

And to think a couple of our members here were losing their collective minds with each of those vital Spring training losses................

It was out starting pitching that was the worry during ST, and still is. We know the O's will hit, but the jury is out on the starting pitching as 6 games does not a season make. I'm glad to see the O's off to a good start but I'm still skeptical about the pitching... :rolleyes2: -- Al

Oh come on George, got to let us O'S fans have some fun!!! :) but in all seriousness right now it's not winning 6-7 or whatever games in a row but trying to win each series, if the Orioles can win a few of these road series in the next 2 weeks against Red Sox, Rangers, Blue jays then I'll get excited...Sammy

It was pretty annoying, but whatever...................the ballpark looked great, more off season improvements, felt bad for Bill Russell during the first pitch festivities, he can barely walk, his knees are shot................

Russell's knees are shot from carrying around the Celtics and all that championship hardware for so many years.:wink2: -- Al

Al:

With no one making him a serious offer the Giants are considering signing him, albeit at a very reduced price. For his part Lincecum and his camp seem to be ok with waiting to see if another team needs a starter due to injury or other misfortune.

He helped the Giants win all of their recent rings yet both sides have turned this saga into a protracted divorce.

There's very little room for emotion in baseball when you're trying to win, notwithstanding prior contributions. He would be taking a spot that a more effective pitcher could fill. Sports is a what have you done for me lately business. We, as fans, have attachment to certain players but teams can't make decisions on emotion.

Thanks for the answer, Jason. I thought I read or heard somewhere that the Padres were considering signing him, but I haven't seen anything about it specifically. -- Al

Matz got lit up like a Christmas tree today: seven runs in two innings. The hitting woes continue. They have the worst batting avg in baseball. Warning signs are developing: Harvey has been inconsistent, DeGrom has lost 4 miles per hour of his fastball. The starters may not have yet recovered from last year and it was something the team pointed to last year. Only time will tell.

Hey Sammy 6-0.... WHAT .... WHAT... Last time anything close to this happened it was 1970 and some of us are old enough to remember what happend that year. Now I'm not saying it will happen again or that our team now is anything like what we fielded back then but living close enough to Baltimore to smell it {sm4}, us O's fans are at least enjoying the start ^&grin

No doubt Geb been fun so far , if the O's can win the next few tough series it will be a good sign, plus we get Gausman back in a about a week hopefully, are you headed to Camden Yards anytime soon??...Sammy

Hey O's fans, the last time the O's started the season 6-0, they were the St. Louis Browns and it was 1944! Go O's!^&grin -- Al

Al, Must be some sort of tie in with that Browns name ^&grin speaking of names Al, I did not know until a few weeks ago that Modell tried to buy back the title of "Colts" to Baltimore?? I think he offered 15 million but Irsay wouldn't budge for anything less then 50 million!! I tell you this, if Modell had put out some type of fund raiser state wide to get the rights of the name Colts back he would have received a good amount for sure, but I guess all things happen for a reason...Sammy

You neglected to add they won the pennant that year (their only pennnant in St. Louis). They were able to take advantage of a depleted major league, due to WW II.

They had some good players such as Vern Stephens, Al Zarilla and Denny Galehouse. However, by 1946, with the veterans back, they reverted to form.
