First Legion is extremely pleased to present the next vehicle in our “Battle of the Bulge” series, BB030 the German Sd Kfz 182 Konigstiger as part of the 1st SS Panzer Division. The 1st Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler Division was broken down into 4 different Kampgruppes for the Ardennes offensive, each named after their respective commander. The most famous of these was Kampfgruppe Peiper which contained all of the division’s tanks and was the tip of the spear of the “Wacht am Rhein” offensive. Our tank is designed to appear as it would have looked at the outset of the battle. The King Tiger was the successor to the Tiger I as Germany's Heavy Tank and combined the thick armor of the Tiger I with the sloping armor of the Panther along with the firepower of the 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 anti-tank cannon. Ours is depicted with the Henschel turret and soft edged camo as part of the 1st SS Panzer Division's Kampfgruppe Peiper. This tank is a real beast for sure at 70 tons and our rendition of it is modeled and painted to the very highest standards including additional weathering that we haven't done on any previous vehicle. With only a very small number of them produced (less than 100), KT 221 will become a real collector's item and a fantastic addition to our Battle of the Bulge figure series.

BB030 German King Tiger Tank - SS Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler $465.00
Ships Mid July

Holy cow! Just fantastic! I'll be getting one.

17nth lancers Zulu war look fantastic but wrong uniforms for the Crimea where they wore shrapka helmets. No Martini carbines either and different uniforms. Same regiment though. All they need are some mass battle Zulus to chase.

Will the FL Panzer Kommander figure set for the FL Tiger I fit into the KT cupola? The sets are still available on Ebay.

Absolutely.

The King Tiger turret hatches are the same size as the Tiger I and Panther hatches and the figures fit fine in those.

The new War Park SS Panzer figures will also fit if you want SS Panzer figures in black uniforms.

Absolutely awesome! Love the weathering!
Definitely getting one of these babies!

Already order this beast and Thanks Matt for help. He really care of his customer. By the way only 3 KT left in FL. Treefrog also sold out. So those who want this should order asap. I don't think Matt will release another KT in this camo.

100 items sold out in two days, who said the toy soldiers companies are in sales troubles?

Considering that this is the third Kingtiger with the production turret produced by a major Toy Soldier manufacturer in the last decade, it is surprising that this version does not have the features offered in the previous versions! The hull and rear turret hatches do not open/close. No figures come with the Panzer; where 2 or 3 were included with prior models. The tracks are plastic; where other manufacturers are offering metal tracks and wheels in 1/30 scale models. No interior detail or features like removable/configurable fenders, as have been offered in recent state of the art Panzers released by other manufacturers are incorporated.

None of the resent advances in the quality of Toy Soldier models have been incorporated into this model which is very disappointing given the reputation of FL and the price of the model. I have many models of Kingtiger in my collection from 1/72 to 1/16 scale; in both metal and resin and this model is undistinguished in comparison.

I would love to see a winter version. I would have to think there will be one coming with how well the first did. Congrats to all who got one! It looks great, particularly in the one shot w/ blue background and loaded w/ riders. I'm really looking forward to release of the riders so I can put them on my tiger I.

Shows the commonsense of producing less than demand.

Item moves quick and no storage issues with leftover stock

Well I guess that's the beauty of the hobby; features and material that are important to one collector are not important to others.

Sorry if this version of the Tiger II does not meet your standards in a tank. I think it's unrealistic to expect every manufacturer to produce items with the same material and features. What one manufacturer does has no bearing on what another does and to expect that is very narrow thinking.

McDonalds doesn't cook their burgers the same way Burger King does, nor does Burger King cook theirs the same way Wendy's does; if you want a McDonald's hamburger, you wouldn't go to Burger King to buy one now would you?

Based on the fact that about 100 of them sold in two days, I'd say others do not feel the same way you do.

Good luck with your Collectors Showcase Tiger II's.

If the whole run was gone so quickly, hope that other KT are in the pipeline.

Would love to see one of the command KT in the Stavelot video loop.

Have not been able to identify this 222 with red numbers. There is so much references on Tigers and King Tigers, that there are no "generic" models.

As for a "winter" King Tiger, there were probably none in the Ardennes. I prefer close to historical models and as I said above, most King Tigers are very well documented.
