Martyn,
Nice job! Did they break the square, or did the Brits simply deploy into an improvised triangle?:p

Hi Martyn,

Great pictures from your Saturday afternoon of boredom.

I suspect the devilish hordes broke the British Square at Tamai by sheer force of numbers.

Good to see the guns back in the right hands. No "Lost Gun" here.

Cheers, Raymond.

:)

Love it Martyn when you bring your Trophy figures out to play. Looking forward to it continuing......Joe

Glad you liked it Joe, Raymond, Andanna and Mike.

Here we are Joe with the end of the story

Both now brought to bear on the Dervish

This Dervish does not realise all is lost

TROPHY-EGYPTANDTHESUDANTAMAI8.jpg

This one is no more trouble

TROPHY-EGYPTANDTHESUDANTAMAI12.jpg

Even the Ammunition mules are rescued before the Dervish can take the ammo or slaughter them

Forward men

Since the disaster at Isandhlwana in the Zulu War there are no longer drummer boys, this one is a seasoned campaigner

Wonderful pics of the Sudan/Egypt series! Did the mules come in a box? Were they ID'd by set #? Tell us more of the pedigree!!!

The 3 mules shown in the picture were purchased back in the mid 1990's as add on's to set#EQ16, their catalogue number was EQ17 and they came in pairs, 1 handler + 1 mule and retailed at £16.70 ($27). I bought 4 sets, one handler marching was 24th, one handler marching was Indian Army, 1 handler marching was RA and 1 RA handler was stationary with his mule.
