Seems you haven't been bored lately Nick and wondering why. I'm sure you know the wagon's by Frontline and if you didn't now you do;);). Hope all's been well at your end and still waiting to see what you have in mind for the Frontline Zulu War sets and figures:rolleyes::rolleyes:Take care

I have been very busy making props and putting together a large WWI scene which will be photographed very soon for another toy soldier manufacturer. Zulus will be after the WWI promo diorama. Battle Scene Productions just moved this week to a much larger location so Alex has been busy with that. The area is about 1800 square feet of space. We haven't settled in yet. Tomorrow we plan to set up the new location so we get get back into the swing of things again. The new location will have what we call a museum area where permanent displays will be showcased and once a year we plan to have a get together with anyone who wants to come down to the studio, hang with us, eat, drink/beer/soft drinks/water and have a great time. We hope to make this an annual event. We will even have prize drawings throughout the day.
We hooked up with a world famous sculptor for possible, well I won't go there yet.
And we have a big meeting with another world renowned figure for possible, well I won't go there also.
If all works out, we will knock the socks off the toy soldier industry.
You have been put on notice. lol
That's why I haven't been bored.
Regards,
Nick:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:

Hi Lt

I have a small piece of local history for you . I live in The City of Plymouth , Devon , England. The berth place of Lt John Rouse Merriott Chard VC (21 December 1847 – 1 November 1897)He was an British soldier who won the Victoria Cross for his role in the defence of Rorke's Drift in 1879.

He was born? and lived only 4 streets away from my house in Milehouse at a place called Penny Come quick. I`ts a round- a- bout now , Most of the streets around it was bombed in WWII by the German Luftwaffe as a Railway station is very close by and the Royal Naval base, Devonport is only a couple of miles away, so it got blitzed.

He was born in Plymouth Devon, the son of William Wheaton Chard and Jane Brimacombe. He had two brothers: William Wheaton and Charles Edward, and five sisters: Charlotte Maria Herring, Mary Jane, Jane Brimacombe, Florence and Margaret Edith. He joined the Royal Engineers in 1868 and served in Bermuda and Malta before being sent to South Africa. As a Lieutenant, he commanded the supply depot at Rorke's Drift when it was attacked by Zulus during the Anglo-Zulu War. After the battle he was immediately promoted to Captain and then brevet Major.

He is buried in the churchyard of St. John the Baptist, Hatch Beauchaup, near Taunton in Somerset.

One of my best friends is called Steven Brimacombe but as far as he knows he is not a relative.

It`s a very small world.

Lt. JRM Chard, VC is one of my heroes of Queen Victoria's Little Wars.

I certainly welcome any added information on Mr. Chard.

Any chance of some photographs of the round- a- bout at Penny Come quick ?

Kind Regards, Raymond.:)
