Bored Tonight...Post a Diorama, LOL (5 Viewers)

Here's my Egyptian collection- figures are KC, Scenics are KC and Gittens, the Roman War Galley is Conte's.

This is a compressed setup, when finished, it will be approximately 7'x3'. It is supposed to show Caesar and Cleopatra meeting up along the Nile. The white styrofoam piece is hopefully going to be a temple someday- I just gotta get around to dressing it out.

Try to ignore the Omaha beach action in the background LOL

I think when I finish this thing off for good I am going to use real sand and place a couple pieces of tile as a courtyard for Cleopatra.

Hey Carlos

thanks for the kind words- well, they would certainly fit with Mark Antony (Marcus Antonius) as he was probably the most celebrated playboy/ frat boy in the ancient world but, alas, those figures would not be well received by my wife.

Now, on the other hand, one of the reasons I set all this up in particular is that I was asked to come in as a guest lecturer for my son's 9th grade honors latin class and discuss to Ptolemic line of Pharoahs. I will bring these figures as part of my lecture. Could you imagine the chaos those dancing girls would create amongst a class of 9th grade teenage males???? :D:D:D

Boy you should get bored more often. What a nice way to enjoy my Sunday morning coffee an thanks for being so bored and sharing it with us.....The Lt.

I've got to agree with my friend Joe....although it's afternoon coffee for me;)

Cheers

AWI- Figures are KC, with the exception of the JJD frontier people set- The scenics are Britains, the trees are the war torn trees from Gittins. For those of you who were looking at the AWI British thread in the KC section, this is a rank of 12 figures, per side.

The Continentals fire upon the British.......

...the British return the favor- en masse.

Thanks BF- and to all the other kind comments. It was nice to get that beast onto the table for once.

Well, gotta run and coach my daughter's softball team. Tonight I hope to crack into WW2- a subject that doesn't get much attention here on the forum :D

Chris, great stuff. A small contribution of my own, not my own figures I am afraid.....

Here is one of several photos I posted this evening under the Wm Britain section. Mostly WB ACW figures with a few Conte ACW to fill out the ranks. Diorama bases and backdrop painting by Ken & Ericka Osen (H&A) . . .

Mike- nice shots bud- ever tried doing smoke effects?? I know you can with Photoshop- just curious if you ever tried using cotton and maybe greying it up a bit- I have done that with good effect at wargaming shows- haven't gotten the nerve to try it on the big boys yet :D Would think smoke would really liven up any ACW, AWI, Napoleonic or F&I War dio.

Everytime Joe Baker (playsetaddict) comes over to the house we have used "smokey" cotton, and also some photoshop effects for musket smoke. We have also used dry ice and hot water to create fog/smoke -

That is just so beautiful. That has to be the BEST CIVIL WAR DIORAMA I have seen yet. POST MORE PHOTOS!
Thanks!

If you want to see some more of my ACW photo scenes, look in the Wm Britian section. All my recent thread titles start with "ACW -"
