Bored Tonight...Post a Diorama, LOL (2 Viewers)

Thanks for the info about the buildings, one thing though, how did you add the windows? Anyway, for the average size door, 1:32 scale would be too big right? How about 1:72 or whatever that scale is? Please let me know because I plan to have a small village with a church tower in the middle, so it may have too be quite a small scale, pleaase help me lol :D

Brayshaw,

To get an idea of how to make a diorama from scratch, you may want to look at www.toysoldierchat.com and do a search for the user marct, who is Marc Thorsen.

Marc Thorsen is a very accomplished diorama maker and on several of his threads he shows how he makes a dio from the beginning to end. It may give you an idea of what's involved.

Brayshaw,

You sound like a younger collector, and may have budget issues, so I would recommend e-mailing or PM'ing "Warrior" (dealer George Guerrero). He is an expert at smaller scale (25mm and 30mm) figure painting and diorama building. You can get a lot more bang for your buck if you work in 25mm as opposed to 54mm or 60mm, especially if you will take the time to paint the figures yourself. George has built some amazing dioramas in this smaller scale, pictures of some of which are posted on this thread. I am sure he can help you quite a bit. George is a great guy, really approachable, and I am sure he will help you if asked.

Cheers guys, I'll try and contact them both and let you know how i get on later on next month or this month lol, cheers :D

Folks! For the benefit of any interested parties, Marcus T. came over to my house and snapped pictures of my diaramas that are on display in my basement. They will be posted on the other web site. I hope you enjoy them.

What is the other website:eek:

That is cool. At first I thought it was a picture of a vendor setup.

I love the airbase!! I am working with Gordon on mine right now. I have a Quonset Hut and a control tower, and Gordon is going to build me a Hanger. I really like the water tower. Whose planes are you displaying (Mosquitos or Beaufighters?).

Hi Louis. Thanks! They are all Corgi 1/32 Mosquitoes with a broad cross section of pilot figures from the unknown to Frontline & of course K&C. The Q. Hut is K&C but I have no idea about the water tower. I wish Corgi would come out with a 1/32 or similar Beaufighter-better yet K&C! But for now, I will enjoy the pictures of yours!

Right you are. But she is a work in progress with no snow added yet to the streets, etc. Once the latest U.S. Bulge figures & tanks arrive I should be able to complete Bastogne-at least for this year's version. Thank you again. Oh, still waiting for my K&C Bird-Dog to have flying overhead!

Well, whoever made the water tower, I may ask Gordon to make me one for my RAF diorama. It is really cool.

Kevin Elliott just sent us these images of his new diorama. Amazing work!
